Forces ‘for’ and ‘against’ holding a large community meeting I did the analysis to evaluate various forces’ against’ and ‘for’ holding a community meeting. Below is a summary of the findings;

Available Resources- Having the advantage of having the venue fitted with meeting tools such as microphones, podium, speakers, chairs and tables for many people to sit on. Optionally a venue could be rented.
Absenteeism- when key persons such as community leaders do not attend, questions may arise as pertains decisions that were made. This may slow the implementation process (Eger, 2012).
Cost- getting all the people together is a cheaper means of collecting data. By getting the community together, we can conclude our meeting in a day or at least two.
Making a final decision- this may result to some people’s opinion being left out. As such, they will not take it so kindly. Additionally, it may mean that the top leaders would have to make the decision themselves in case a consensus is not reached as a group (Brandler, Roman, & Roman, 2007).
No Distractions - by getting all the parties together away from their daily operations, it raises an opportunity of making them focus on the issue at hand, thus making it possible to meet the goal of the organization (Dyer Jr., Dyer, & Dyer, 2013).
Time - mostly, meetings go overtime and still some issues are either covered inadequately or not at all. There may be need for more than a day and this may put off members of the community who have other matters to attend to.
Information sharing- the R&D organization would get an opportunity to share more information with the community on their desire to improve the performance of the organization. This way, the community also has an opportunity to give ideas on how to achieve this.
Silent participants- there is a likelihood of having silent participants hence some significant opinions may be left out. This is because some people are fearful by nature and engaging everyone in such a large meeting may not be possible.
Encourage teamwork- such a meeting would be a great opportunity to encourage teamwork among all the involved groups. This is because they will get a chance to brainstorming and together they will come up with solutions.
Dominant participants - these may overshadow the rest of the participants and unless there is a way of to deal with them, then there is likelihood of only having opinions from few people.
