The core issue of a learning contract is to provide a guiding strategy for personal learning. What is needed is a learning contract is a clear declaration of the rationale of the contract. This may be provided as an aim, a predicament, or a matter. The purpose must be suitable to the course or subject and be adequately challenging to merit inclusion in a bachelor-level program (Anderson, Baud & Sampson, 1998). The purpose of learning contracts can be indicated as transforming responsibility for the education process from the educator to the learner to enable students to learn better with a clear focus. It also offers motivation by ensuring accomplishment under known conditions.

A learning contract is a means for a student to have a prepared learning model to pursue. This structure must be specifically designed for individual students’ needs. It offers information and objectives the student has set for their individual use.
