This sentiment can be well elaborated by looking at the population that the city accommodates, the square feet which has been thought to be five boroughs, the culture and food, in arts and entertainment. Those who have managed Visit New York have the world at their fingertips with a lot of excitement about it. The city is full of beautiful sceneries from Uptown to Downtown and beyond. A single visit to the city is not enough this is simply because there is so much to do and see. The two visits will never be the quite the same. The 10 things to done in the city make the make every visit unique. Every visit to New York captures the energy, spirit and style of the city. There are very many areas sites in New York city but there are some that have sentimental value attached to them than others.Such places are targeted by certain types of people like tourists who yearn to have a chance to see these places and know their significance of such places to them.Some of the places or areas that are of great value or interest to the NewYork residents than others areas include:-Barnum’s Museum,The Brooklyn bridge,Wall street,China town,Harlem,Coney island,Times square,Public housing projects and the Lincoln center for the performing arts.In these project ,we are going to look at the significance of the following places to the people of New York that also attracts tourists to these areas. The island also contains the New york aquarium which helps to preserve a variety of breeds of fish that help in the education of individuals and preservation of history.The three famousrides that are present in the island include:-the wonder wheel ,the cyclone roller coaster and the parachute jump that are owned by companies listed in the National Register of historic places .These rides are aimed at providing fun to individuals and generating funds to the country due to visitation by tourists.The development of the Coney island has led to major developments in the new york area that include:-participating in charity work by the formation of the`Coney Island Sports Foundation’,presence of subsidized apartments around Coney Island for individuals who earn a low income and development of infrastructure,like the Coney Island StillWell Subway Station,creation of employment,increase of revenue due to visitation by tourists and lastly it has led to preservation of dignified American culture that is popular. Barnum’s museum This museum was developed in the late eighteenth century and it was located at the corner of Broadway in the lower parts of Manhattan. This area is always recognized in New York as a major area of obtaining historical data. Thevarious forms of attraction inside the museum include paintings, figures which are waxed, historical dramas like Shakespeare and memorabilia. Like any other museum it is used to maintain the history of the country, which helps in educating individuals in the country at large. An individual gets to learn things about their origin through the information that is collected in this museum.The children in these area that have access to this museum get to know more about the origin of their culture and beliefs this is due to the fact that this museum existed since the 18th century till now. The Barnum’s American museum is an institution thatis available to the public regardless of race, working class, residents, visitors, women, men or even children.It brings together every other individual in sharing and appreciating theAmerican culture. This is one the symbolic land mark statue in the Barnum’s Museum. Times Square This is an area in New York that is commonly known as the district of theatre and was known as the Longacre square before it was renamed in April 1904.This area was the center of the publishing of the New York Times magazine in the 19th century before the publisher decided to move.The times square has influenced development of infrastructure .e.g:-the Lincoln Highway Association decided the times square to be the eastern terminus of the Lincoln Highway.The Lincoln Highway being the 1st road in the united states to go pass through 13 states leading to the western terminus in the Lincoln park in California.The times square is also an entertainment area which contains majority of theatres(broadway),music halls and hotels of a high standard. This area has also been seen to be an area full of crime ,prostitution and gambling.This isalso because of the happenings that have taken place in that area.e.g:-the car bombing attempt that took place in 2010 that led to the evacuation of the 43rd and 46th street due to investigations which needed to be performed by the police.The car caused a small explosion that led to small fire but was put out immediately.Lastly,the times square is a place considered by new yorkers as aplace to meet and rejoice over various news or happenings like:-presidential elections,the new year and the new year’s eve ball drop.The presence of the neon signs,broadway theatres and New York’s icon images are a sign of how this area potrays urban aspects of Manhattan. Wall Street This street in NewYork is termed as the district of finance/the neighbourhood in Manhattan that is involved in commercial activities/the center of all financial activities in the united states of America.This definitions are based on this street being the first residence of the New york stock exchange which at present is the largest stock exchange market.If there is a negative shift in the wall street economy,there will be disastrous effects in the economy of the state.This street is also a neighbourhood that has developed in the recent yearswhere some offices that were empty were converted into apartments.There have also been building of stores,supermarkets and schoolsdue to individuals inhabiting the street and thus development of a community within an economic influential area. This street is also a tourist attraction site due to the various attractive sites like the :-federal reserve building which has a gold vault around 70-80 feet below the street level.The presence of the stock exchange also attracts tourists to this street because of the busy nature of it and the presence of competition among the stock brokers.The stock exchange has also built visitors’ gallery to show how significant the wall street is to people.Lastly,wall street is a destination for passengers who want to commute from place to another because it has led to development of infrastructure that is meant to serve its purpose.e.g:-the new york city subway has three stations that are under wall street. Public housing projects The public housing of individuals in new york city has been handled by the New York Housing Authority.This housing is aimed at providing shelter to individuals who have low or moderate income.These hosing facilities or residents are commonly referred as the projects/developments.These projects are normally linked to crime which is due to the poverty that exists in the area.Due to this,security measures have been taken by the police department in New York.These measures include patrolling of these areas by police officers to ensure safety of the residents of these projects and to ensure that the aim of the development of these projects is achieved,the aim being to provide shelter to new york residents.
