Islamic Civilization In Asia, the government army never used to be in good terms with the Christian army, which was underthe leadership of Godfrey of Buillon. This showed absence of peace between the government and the religion. This questions the ethics that were used in leadership sectors. It is common sense that the government-set laws should always be acceptable even in the religion sector as far as ethics are concerned to enhance peace and unity in the nation if the religion proves to be on the right. This however changed with time towards improvement. During this period of change, Jerusalem was under the leadership of King Baldwin. Many Christians happened to be concentrated around Joppa (Kerr). The Christians in Joppa were at one time attacked by the Turks who lived in Cairo and the king decided to save them. These Christians were aware that Baldwin would be their only rescue by God’s grace. The king too knew well that they were desperate for his help which would be their only way out. Due to the fact that the king had at first travelled to Assur town, the Christians had almost lost hope of their rescue. Through God’s mercies, Baldwin was successful in his efforts towards saving the Christians from the hands of the Turks. Though they succeeded in recuing some of them, not all Christians were lucky to be free. Some therefore still remained under the threats and continuous attacks of the enemy. While this siege was still going on, some Christians also decided to visit Joppa in large numbers for devotion performance. Among others, Hardin of England was one of the major leaders in this big group of Christians. On seeing these numerous Christians approaching them, the enemies who were still subjecting the citizens of Joppa to torture were somehow frightened and changed positions of their tents so as to make decisions on whether they retreat or continue with their attack activities toward the people they had held hostage. All the same, they settled for hurting the Christians with repeated assaults and extremely tough attacks. After resting for three continuous days, Baldwin took a bold step of direct attack towards the Saracen’s army with a lot of power. This was boosted by the Christian army making it one significant attack with great spiritual boost. This now frightened the enemies even more and drew their attention with great fear in them. After an acute approach, the Saracens were forced to escape to Ascalon while many of them were killed during the combat. Some of those who escaped death did not escape injuries. They then decided to lip slowly towards the sea to drawn themselves only to avoid the painful death from the attack. This showed how effective the army combination from the side of the Christians was in chasing away the enemies. This expresses the power in combination of religion and government. This would be even more significant if it is practiced even in other fields of the endeavors of creating peace and nation building. Gaps between religion and governments should not be assumed but be taken care of with due respect and attention. They could mean much more than deliverance of a town like it happened to Joppa from its enemies. Elsewhere, in France, the King, who was Louis decided to go against the Saracens in the year 1248. The king was escorted and strengthened in the ware-fare by William Earl of Salisbury together with the Bishop of Worcester and other great men who were members of the realm from England. The esteemed city where the Saracens happened to live in Egypt was called Damietta. This was the city that the king of France focused on taking over in the year 1249, month of October. He supplied sufficient military force to the place then moved his tent to penetrate further towards the east. Among those who served in this military was William Earl of Salisbury, who had carried with him a chosen band of Englishmen who served under his special command. However, the French people did not like Earl and his people. They went ahead and called them offensive names such as English tails. This bothered the King of France very much as he had so much to do so as to create peace between them. The reason behind their conflict was due to an event that had happened earlier. A short distance away from Alexandria there was a solid castle that belonged to the Saracens where they had preserved some of their principal women and their most expensive treasures. Earl and his English people happened to take away these preserved belongings and kept them to themselves. This was great loss to the French and the English people enjoyed wealth. However, this whole exploit had not been communicated to the French, and when they came to know about it, they were filled with anger and did not talk good of the English people since then. This is History example for nations that did not support nor maintain peace as far as religion is concerned. In this article, the author also states the observations made after visiting Germany and the cities across it. It is highlighted as a beautiful land with warmth as the citizens there are welcoming with excellent hospitality. This creates an image of a city with great tranquility and peace loving citizens. The fact that they attend to visitors in warmth and kindness expresses it as the kind of a place to be and the attractive quality in it for tourists. The government here seems to be connected to religion as that king accommodated them with much love and shared dinner with them. This shows a government that values the religion leaders and offer due respect. Coordination between the government and religious leaders here must be flowing very well to the author’s observations. That I support as true. The fact that the king could afford to warmly welcome them as religious leaders to his premises for dinner serves as credible evidence that the state government can accommodate even the opinions and contributions of the religious leaders into the matters of building the nation, and most importantly, measures towards creation and maintenance of peace and tranquility amongst the citizens. In other nations, it is different. Religious leaders are neither regarded nor recognized by the state as people who could take part in influencing the prevailing of peace and harmony in the country. They are never given a hearing and it all begins at the top most sector of leadership. This is why it is recognized as great effort and a good example when the king of Germany affords to accommodate religious leaders in his homestead and even go as far as sharing dinner with them. The author, out of the experienced he went through, rated the king as the best that the state had in a long time. Security here was also found to be tight as the army was well armed and looked to have a lot of potential and undergone ultimate train for necessary skills. Later on the author left through Poland. On the way, it was observed that Poland was a beautiful country with much flat land. The fact that there existed many structures that were said to be lodgings gave enough evidence that the nation was quite infertile. It therefore drew to a conclusion that it poorly participated in making efforts to enhancing the necessities of life. A city named as Lublin was found to be tolerable with a good education system. The education system was evidenced as good due to the fact that the king entrusted the city for the education of hid children. The children left their home and lived in this city in search of education. The fact that these kids also seemed well performing and well behaved too boosts the compliment that the city offered best education services. These children also expressed politeness in the way they approached the author. They paid due attention to their teachers and expressed courtesy in their relationship with the teachers. A city by the name Jusch was part of the experience that displayed many social characters of the people on Poland. There was peace and silence as the inhabitants of the area were extremely drunk of some strong liquor that had been made the night before, with regards to a wedding ceremony that had taken place. The country does not produce or manufacture wine, but the citizens make up the liquor instead. This displays a character not much different from the author’s society as they take wine and some manufacture the same stronger liquor in addition. This therefore severs part of the similarities in societies, which lead to the author’s failure to judge the society and their beliefs. With the experience from the journey, the state of security was no different as there were areas that were not advisable to pass through at late nights. This made a reflection of society with quite balanced and averaged living standards. Robbers being available here too showed that the situation is common across cultures and no culture should therefore be judged. The areas that were not best to pass through in the dark were the reasons as to why lodgings were important so as to serve anyone who found themselves in a situation such as that of the author, the state of being late. Just as it happened with the king, governor Pamartin sent some of his people to welcome the author to his place to share dinner together with him. This significantly displays that the government officials are at peace and follow one another’s examples. Supposing the king invites them for dinner but the governor fails to. It would show that only part of the government would find the religious leaders as honorable yet some other section of it views the on a different dimension. This therefore solidifies the evidence that religious leaders across these cultures are at peace and coordinate with government officials. It shows that as a religious leader, one would be offered a hearing for opinions towards building the nation. In conclusion therefore, the Islamicate culture in the author’s work is of not much difference to that of the author. In such a case therefore, there is no possibility of placing judgments over the cultural activities that are carried out across the culture. I agree with the author on the laid facts especially on the relationship between the government and religion. The credible evidence as to how the officials of the government treated him as a senior person in religion is just enough to draw facts from about the case example society. The society has no restrictive laws that interfere with the citizens’ right of worship. It has warm and welcoming citizens led by their king and the governors placed in authority.
