cess of making images, these individuals had paintings in caves showing images of people working, hunting, and sleeping (Spivey, 10th to 15th minute). Based on the prehistoric cultures; sleeping, hunting, and working were activities that humans were actively involved with. However, when considering contemporary cultures, the use of images is quite different as the documentary explains. The difference between prehistoric cultures and contemporary cultures is well explained by considering the use of images in both contexts.
Prehistoric cultures might have considered painting a way of expressing things in form of imagery. Contemporarily, images are used to represent things, way of life, and every activity making part of human activities. Taking from images in caves of hunting, sleeping, and working people does not compare with current images from contemporary cultures. Thus, prehistoric culture can only be explained through the use of archeological evidence. This evidence is both sensitive to human activities and time and stands a better chance of explaining past culture than current cultures do.
