Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity Grade Liberty, equality, and fraternity are three conditions that people experienced during the revolution. The slaves were set free by their masters and were allowed to enjoy equal rights and freedom like their fellow citizens. The slaves did not deserve to be denied their rights and freedom. This is because they are also human beings.Liberty is a condition where people are free to do anything that does not harm others. Example is the revolution that was exercised by everybody1.

Equality during revolution placed all rules and regulations in equal measures. Citizens enjoyed equal rights in courts, employments and high offices in the country. Elder Laurens set his slaves free and expected his counterparts to follow suit during revolution to express liberty. He expressed his disagreement with the slavery acts through his letter to John, his son2 . In his letter, he expressed that slavery violated the golden rule. In support of his letter, he freed one of his personal servants at the time of revolution.

John Laurens publicly listed all slaves who were in the Continental Army and released them when they returned from service. Union of deputies expressed fraternity of rebellion by swearing never to separate from the National Assembly except on special conditions3. This union was to rebel the constitution until a time when it would be rectified. Christian fraternity built stronger religious links to strengthen the citizens. Fraternity brought equality among citizens and liberated them from death.

In conclusion, slaves are human beings and should be liberated and treated equal with other citizens. This will enhance fraternity and peace to all people.
