It is of interest to me because I would like to establish how the global poverty affects not just the poor countries but also the rich nations. I am interested in finding out how their relations with each other impact on the occurrence or incidence of poverty. This topic is also of interest to me because I would like to find out how different countries are responding to this issue and what interventions have already been implemented in order to resolve this issue.
1. United Nations – This organization is involved in alleviating poverty through the various programs it has set and implemented on its member countries (MacMillan, 2011). One of these programs include the Millennium Development Goals which has set forth activities on reducing poverty, improving health outcomes, increasing employment opportunities, and in promoting peace in developing countries (UN, 2010a). This organization would likely require research in relation to the achievement and the fulfillment of its MDGs (Tran, 2011). Such a research would provide feedback on the efficacy of its programs.
2. CARE is a United States-based organization whose goal is to fight global poverty by focusing on poor women providing them with access to education, preventing diseases, providing them access to clean water, expanding their economic opportunities, and protecting their natural resources (CARE, 2012). This organization would likely require research on the impact of poverty on women in developing countries. Such a research direction would seek to establish the possible solutions which can be directed towards poor women.

Remaining non-sectarian and non-political, the organization operates in 72 countries and reaches to around 60 million poorest people. The organization aims at improving the lives of women by helping them gain basic education, providing sanitation and clean water and preventing spread of disease.

Relative poverty refers to a lack of the socially acceptable level of resources as compared to others in the same society (Encyclopedia Britannica, 2012). The percentage of poverty in the developing world dropped to 21% in 2001 with some improvements seen in East and South Asia.
A great amount of human suffering has been generated by global poverty. In addition to that, it has been unmatched by some tragedies in remote or recent times. For instance, the number of individuals who have died due to poverty is quite amazing. This creates the need to study poverty with the aim of finding possible solutions to eradicate it (Caranti, 2010).
World Poverty: A Never Ending Situation. The widely known contemporary global poverty indices are not only dramatic, but fall far much behind the conventional wisdom of justice. Whereas research and policy implications have a combined and directed synergy emphasizing global poverty reduction, inequality remains a much sticky affair.
Despite the fact that developing countries suffer more from poverty, developed countries are not spared of the dearth of resources as well. In developed economies, poverty is manifested increasing cases homelessness and informal settlements. Poverty may be perceived as the situation in which people face lack of resources, and economic opportunities in a nation.
Through a larger perspective if one observes, poverty reduces the worth of human life, creates imbalance in society (through rich and poor criteria), motivates crime and unjust acts, arouses frustration among a group of people to fight for their right and above of all becomes a cause of death for many innocent lives.
The central issue of this article highlights the fact that poverty is an evil that the global economy should fight against. Although the international economy is progressing (at a slow pace after the financial crisis of 2008), all layers of the society are not being entitled to the fruits of economic growth.
