Other than the baking industry, metric system is important in the pharmaceutical, automotive, engineering, and science industry. These industries have decided to go metric system because it is very crucial in world trade. Metric terminology is being used in the medical field. The metric system is taught early during the training of doctors because the drug dosage is usually specified in metric units. Presently, approximately ninety percent of global population utilizes the metric system. The metric system is still being introduced and utilized in majority of the industries in the United States; the most remarkable industries using the system include the food and beverage industry. For instance, when an individual purchases a beverage such as coffee or soda, the measurement usually appears on the beverage package in metric terms and customary measurements always used (Strianese and Strianese 119).

The metric system offers standard rules for “communicating the amounts of its units through prefixes. For example, a milligram is one-thousandth of a gram (weight), a milliliter is one-thousandth of a liter (volume), and a millimeter is one-thousandth of a meter (length)” (Strianese and Strianese 120). The customary system does not have this form of predictability and uniformity (Strianese and Strianese 120). ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

...accessed by authorized individuals. The operating system that is to be used in the organization has to meet all the needs of the market and development environment. There are numerous OS systems available in the market, but I recommend the use of Windows 7 Ultimate edition. The reasons behind the recommendation include stability of the OS and the availability of compatible software for the development of widgets. An example of the software that could be useful in the development of the widgets is the Adobe CS 5Master Suite. This is because it has some of its functions non-operable with the other OS platforms as well as a 32-bit system....

...for customer satisfaction which is not urgent in operation of an organization but very important for survival of the product. The relation ship of two tasks make it very important that we make logically one major and the other minor because one cannot make both major or both minor. One has always chosen one out of two. If one is choosing both major & minor at the same time the result is confusion in the system. For example in the world of politics one has to live a neat & clean life to earn a good name. One doing bad cannot earn good namedrop likewise one choosing URGENT cannot choose the IMPORTANT, due to the inversely proportional relationship of the both tasks. I always choose IMPORTANT AS MAJOR...

...correctness supposedly promotes equality for everyone, but in this case, it promotes the discriminative element, rather than just let the phrase lose the “offensive” meaning. If it does not fulfill the goals that it intends to achieve, it does not make sense to follow it. Therefore politically correct language is pointless. People who try so hard to say the right thing in the name of political correctness they end up just looking foolish. For example, not using the term African-American for black people in considered politically incorrect. However, when you use the term, you are making at two assumptions: 1) that the person is an American, and 2) that the person is...

Prior to studying philosophy, the world appeared straightforward, bland, and dogmatism came cheaply. However, philosophy opened up the complexities of the world, providing new vistas. ...CRITICAL THINKING: WHY DO YOU THINK THE WAY YOU THINK? We all have reasons to think the way we think. My thinking depends upon the situation that hashappened in the past or recently. Thinking depends upon the personality of a human being. I am sometimes weak in making judgments as I am narrow minded. My thinking is based on both genetics as well as whatever I have experienced in my life so far. However, my belief is that whatever we think is based on our environment and society. The way we think reflects the nature how we are raised throughout our life. My thinking revolves around the beliefs of my parents. ... ID Lecturer Money cant buy happiness I strongly believe in the saying that money can’t buy happiness. This is because for a person to be truly happy, the feeling has to come from within. This implies that it is an internal emotion which depends a fair deal on how a person perceives his surroundings and what he makes out of it. For an individual who has children, his happiness would comprise of how his kids smile around him and how they showcase merry moments in their own smart ways. For a woman who seeks happiness through her family’s love and attachment, money simply holds no significance. For a businessman who derives his satisfaction by spending time with his family after a busy day’s work, this is something that cannot... ID Lecturer...

...Thinking Globally 1. Argentina is currently facing a higher rate of inflation. The inflation rates have soared to over 26% by 2012. It is expected that this will continue going up especially as the value of peso continues to weaken. In addition to this, the rising cases of inflation have led to lack of employment, insecurity, and loss of foreign investors. In a bid to prevent the inflation and huge debts, the Argentine President Duhalde fixed peso at parity to dollar through a currency board. However, that did not sustain the currency as it lost two third of its value. It was not...
