This paper also focuses on the most famous Gunpowder Empires in the early modern period. The creation of gunpowder empires was considered to be a giant leap for Islamic countries towards stabilizing the politics and identifying themselves as territories. All these empires impacted politics and cultures of various parts of the world.
Invention of Fireworks, which is led by Gunpowder in the 9th century by Chinese Alchemists as an elixir of immortality has largely impacted the entire world (Sivin, Nathan, 1994). Initially gunpowder was used in fireworks and pill-making process in the 9th century. When the formulae of gunpowder came to the strategists, they made it as a substance, which was explosive in nature. According to the Chinese formulae in the 10th and 11th centuries, Gunpowder was made with 27 to 50 percent of nitrate. But as time passed, the nitrate levels in Gunpowder was increased to large extent so that it could become an explosive bomb such as grenade bomb. Most of the Islamic countries were also impacted due to the Gunpowder. By the mid of the 12th century most of the Arab scientists also acquired the knowledge on gunpowder. During the wars against Transoxania in 1219 and 1240, Genghis Khan used a Chinese catapult unit to invade Caucasus. It is not a surprise to say that the invention or introduction of Gunpowder had changed the destiny of many wars in the world (Khan, Iqtidar Alam, 1994). With the introduction of Gunpowder to Medieval Army, the facets of medieval warfare have been changed. The use of Gunpowder had been continued in the 13th, 14th and 15th centuries in ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

It signified the resistance and protection of civil liberties exemplified within the Florentin Republic – a self-governing state which was menaced by more potent rival communities surrounding it and through the dominion of the Medici relations and while the sight of David, as steered by its eyes, is set towards the city of Rome. Bernini’s sense of artistry was most revered... to the...

...humankind enjoys democratic fruits. However, every country that practices democracy as its system of governance has its way of interpreting it which might not appear always rational in other societies based on their actions, culture and beliefs. Unlike before, nowadays people’s opinions are forwarded to the government by elected representatives elected by that society as the population is much higher for every person to directly address the government. This has increased the much needed transparency and reason which must accompany the decision of a representative, for one would appear a fool to present an idea before thinking about its end results even though being the...

... American History Part The Philadelphia Convention As a central event in the history of America, the Philadelphia Convention took place in 1787 which resulted in the creation of the constitution of the United States (Brinkley et. al., 2006). The idea of man having limitless possibilities was certainly endorsed by the members but there were also political realities that had to be considered by those gentlemen. The interest of others was not something that could be accepted by everyone as a matter of fact since self-interest could often dominate the thinking of an individual. In developing countries, multinational companies have the capacity to provide employment thus increasing the income of the residents (Ghemawat 92-99). At the same time, resident governments levy taxes on multinational companies thus improving the economy of such nations. However, multinational companies face critics of polluting the environment...

John slept intermittently along the way. He had reveries of sweet dreams that alternated with nightmares. At a point he had woken up with a jolt, shaking and sweating profusely. He was now convinced beyond doubt that his seat number had something to do with bad luck, but it had been too late to change the seat. Jane had proceeded with her extra-marital escapades. She had in fact rung the secretary to her office to inform her immediately in case John ever made a ‘miraculous’ appearance and attempted to call her. She had been quick to help...

...for change of the status quo. The sophists acted and talked in a manner that made others feel rejected and of little knowledge about philosophy. It is in this respect that Aristophanes details this as the main point through the whole play. Interestingly, he does this through satire and a little bit of comedy. This paper seeks to review the play by mentioning how the main them is projected and how Aristophanes developed a different type of play from his fellow classical writers. In the play, Aristophanes introduces the topic of a new type of education from the old style procedures. He criticizes the already existing reforms in the traditional sophist way of life. The play therefore presents itself as a satirical comedy...

...An examination of Thrasymachus’ ment ‘might is right’ and its political implications While contributing to the dialogue, Thrasymachus makes an interesting observation that might is right. This essay examines the truth of the statement in the modern world with the aid of relevant examples. The best example is the United States decisions and actions in response to terrorism and development of nuclear or chemical weapons.
