According to the authors, the industry uses media in manipulating information on global warming (Hoggan and Littlemore 6). The manipulation makes the public insensitive on the causes and the adverse effects of the problem.
Using the media, the industry players have denied the involvement of human activities in causing climatic change. Furthermore, they indicate that the change in world climate is not a bad phenomenon and the public should not panic on the alterations (Hoggan and Littlemore 8). Concerning the submission carefully, one notes that the industry players cast a dark cloud on the public interest and opinion. They try to make people believe that dangerous gasses, which are emitted into the atmosphere do not cause any harm to humans and other living organisms. In trying to cover-up the issue fossil industries seek for large financial assistance for political campaigns so that those who rise to power do not interfere with the process of manufacturing (Hoggan and Littlemore 11). Ideally, it sounds like a tactical approach to make sure that the industries have full protection from the government and the public is blocked from having the right information.
Industry players sometimes admit that the change is more rapid than the logical predictions of science (Hoggan and Littlemore 35). Therefore, the industry owners and others with financial interest misinterpret the scientific concerns and end up confusing the public who in turn do not act to prevent the matter.
It has been noted that there is little will from the government and those people who take actions do not meet the goals. According to Hoggan and Littlemore, the public does not take an appropriate action because they lack the right information about global warming that would compel the ...Download file to see next pagesRead More
