World Political History Cold war started as a result of increased tension in the world due to the desire for superiority after the Second World War. This was also influenced by fear of outbreak of another world war. This led to increased development of ammunitions and formation of allies. This was influenced by the bigwigs that craved to rule the world. These were the United States of America and U.S.S.R. My analyses will base in the year 1948, Yugoslavia as my country and U.S.S.R as the superpower (Hopf 2012). How does your country fit in this conflict? My country fits in this conflict due to numerous factors that it experienced due to increased desire for power among the leading nations. These factors aimed at creating anxiety in my country in order to force it align itself to the Soviet Union. Yugoslavia entered the conflict as it tried to align to Soviet Union that dominated the Eastern Europe due to factors such as strong military base, organized military forces, economic success, foreign relations and strong political organization. Yugoslavia experienced ethnicity after the world War 11. This caused increased hatred among the local natives and the ethnic Germans leading to increased tension. This led to deaths of majority citizens with no media coverage unlike in other nations (Kullaa 2012). This portrayed the essence of ethnicity and negligence of small countries leading to the cold war. Yugoslavia experienced this tension in fear of an outbreak of the third world war. This was due to increased tension among different nations in the world. Moreover, this is depicted by the desire of power between the two warring parties. This was influenced by different ideologies among the communists and the non-communists. This led to lack of understanding between the two parties after the election leading to internal wrangles. This created tension among the citizens and other nations in fear of another world war. IN addition, cold war was experienced in Yugoslavia due to breakdown of the country into different nations. This led to increased number of captives especially of German origin in the country. The German soldiers in Yugoslavia who participated in the Second World War were also retained as captives leading to mass action (Rajak 2011). This led to deaths of majority foreigners leading to political wrangles between the Yugoslavian leaders and the Soviet Union. This led to the creation of strongly organized military force. Therefore, this led to the development of powerful armament in the nation in order to counter enemies. This led to depression of the nation’s economy and deterioration of foreign relations. What are the threats in your country? Different political ideologies Yugoslavia experienced conflicting political ideologies among its key leaders. This was due to the existence of both nationalists and communists in the country. This posed a nationwide threat as it led to increased conflicts among different political parties. The communists conflicted with the nationalists as both craved to control the country (Rajak 2011). This led to increased human fear as this signaled an outbreak of another war in the country. This was highly influenced by leading nationalists and communist nations that tried to influence their ideologies in Yugoslavia (Rajak). Ethnicity Aftermath of the Second World War was marked by increased ethnicity in all nations that participated in the war. This was due to settlement of war soldiers and captives in foreign countries. Yugoslavia experienced high levels of ethnicity as many war captives, and soldiers who were of foreign origin were retained as captives. This led to increased human suffering in the nation leading to frequent mass protests in the country. This created high tension among the population leading to fear of ethnic clashes among the natives (Rajak 2011). Disintegration of Yugoslavia Moreover, Yugoslavia disintegrated into different nations that sought for self-governance. These conflicts among different communities were as Germany and Austria-Hungary wanted to expand their territories. People of Yugoslavia particularly politicians fled to United Kingdom where they formed a committee for the creation of united Yugoslavia. However, it was crushed by Nazi Germany. The people of Yugoslavia resisted the communist’s rule in protests. People formed a resistance movement called The Yugoslavia Partisans which received aid from USA. The Partisans liberated most part of Yugoslavia under the leadership of a man called Tito. After the death of Tito, most socialist countries such as U.S started funneling a lot of money in terms of loan to the Yugoslavian government which they believed that they could not easily pay back (Rajak 2011). The U.S influenced the International Monetary Fund to give them loans which they were unable to pay. The Yugoslavia government collapsed, and that ended communism leading to disintegration of Yugoslavia. How do you advise your boss to deal with any current or potential conflicts? I would advice my boss to exercise the rule of the law in the country in order to ensure that all people are enjoying equal rights. This would enhance unity among different races and ethnic groups leading to peaceful coexistence among the citizens (Hopf 2012). Moreover, the boss should ensure that all foreign and domestic matters are dealt with at a high degree of democracy in order to avoid rebellion. Conclusion The essay stipulates the characteristics of Yugoslavia that makes it fit in the war. This shows the factors that led to Yugoslavia entering the war.
