These two events are the women suffrage and the global depression. The movement of women suffrage was motivated by the need to inculcate women in the reform measures of the country. Prior to this, the reform undertakings were solely under the prerogative of the men. Women were sidelined to trivial duties that more or less had no meaningful impact in the realization of the overall goal. An important issue that this movement sought to address was the right of women to vote. The rationale was that women had graduated from their archaic duties relegated to household chores.

Through sheer hard work and persistence, the National American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA) and the National Women’s Party (MWP) managed to realize this goal of equality. The impact of this fight for equality, when mapped onto the contemporary society, is the fair and equal treatment of women. Consequently, women were allowed to enter into the arena of politics which was previously a men’s only domain. Women today have their right directly sourced from this movement. However, some hurdles still exist in the overall realization of complete equality between men and women.

This necessitated the need to structure economic policies that would safeguard America against the adverse impacts of such an occurrence. Additionally, the systems in place would fashion as a cushion to reduce the impact of any future global economic meltdown. Speculate as to why women earned the right to vote in the frontier states of the West before eastern and southern states. The western states gave women the right to vote earlier than both the eastern and southern states owing to a number of reasons.

The first reason is that there were more women than men, in the western states (Cott, 1992). This is hinged on the rationale that these women were either widowed or orphaned. As such, they held a significant power capability that could not be ignored by the western leaders. In light of this, the western states were suffering from low population levels in comparison to the eastern and southern states. In the endeavor of attracting immigration into their states, they gave their women right to vote.

This was expected to motives women and their families to migrate into the western states; hence, increasing the population manifold. The men in the western states were entering into war at an alarming rate. Consequently, many women were being left as sole bread winners of their families. As such, this increasing role of head of families
