International Organizations Part Relative Strength and Influence of Issue Areas International organizations referto an organization that has a global scope in the issues it deals with and operate on international basis. The various international organizations including states, intergovernmental organizations, international non-governmental organizations, and multinational corporations compromise of issue areas with diversified and relative strengths and influence towards the actors (Karns & Mingst 8). The main issue areas include the international peace and security, human rights, and development. Consequently, development, the human rights, and the international peace and security have different impact on the various types of international organizations, which are considerably interrelated. On the o0ther hand the actors comprising the various international organizations have role to ensure the success of the international issues in consideration. International Peace and Security This is an issue that deals with the measures taken by the states to ensure that the world is not under the attack from terrorists located in designated nations. The various actors towards international peace and security present various strength and influence towards attaining the common goal of protecting the world against attacks and peaceful correlation of different states. The success of a secure and peaceful world is traced to the state, which are entrusted that for maintain security in the state and ensure the eradication of terrorism. This puts the state at a position of having a relatively high strength in matters concerned with the international peace and security. Moreover, the sates are entrusted to determine potential security threats as stipulated in the United Nations charter giving them a strong contribution in peace restoration through their diversified constitutional procedures. The state has the highest percentage of influence towards the international peace and security keeping. The intergovernmental organizations contain a security council responsible for maintaining peace and security globally through ensuring vital enforcement of the appropriate measures. The fact that the IGOs are formed by states gives them a relative high capacity towards the issue of international peace and security enforcement. In addition, the IGOs influence the issues of peace and security such that they are deals with inter-nations conflicts and enhance the resolution process s of conflict between states that in return reflect towards improved international security and peace. International non-governmental organizations act as an important watchdog over issues concerning peace and security globally and have a limited capability and strength to enforce international peace and security because of their financial dependence on the respective governments. The NGOs influence the issue of security and peace by forwarding recommendations of new measures in the international agenda on peace and security and constant pressure on the actors to act on the new approach towards a peaceful and secure globe. The multinational organizations are non-profit organization, which operate independently whereby the forces under their command are recruited from various nations that are used to keep peace in nations having civil wars. Consequently, the multinational have a considerable strength and capability towards the achievement of international peace and security. Hover, these organizations are limited by their dependency on the various nations to provide them with troops. The multinational organizations have achieved the restoration of peace in nation experiencing civil wars for example in Haiti. Development Development is a general term used to describe the growth of a nation in terms of economy, and infrastructure. The various actors contribute to the development issues in different ways and capabilities. The state organizations has the highest percentage in ensuring development because it is responsible too coordinate all the development strategies pioneered by the other actors such as NGOs, IGOs and multinational organizations . It is responsible in laying down the development strategy and policy focused on the interventions to counter the culture of imbalance and the various distorts, which is a main step towards development. The states policies on taxes determine the economic viability of the country whereby the development lies on the competitiveness of the economy and infrastructure development. Consequently, the state organizations determine the rate of development. The IGOs are international organizations with their operations towards the development issue solely depends on the authority of the member state government. They bring investment and development opportunities to the members as well as limiting the member’s policies procedures; hence the intergovernmental organizations have a considerable strength in in the development issues. The IGOs creates and sustain the international cooperation by their power to influence even the largest states, which in turn affect the behaviors of other states towards the development strategies in place. The NGOs are also key players to the development issues as they act as the watchdog of the public on how the state organization is caring out the development strategy. The NGOs attract foreign investments that lead to revenue generation for the country but at controlled measures indicating that, however profitable and independent the NGOs are, they are under the governments regulations. On the other hand, the multinational organizations contributes less to the development issues as they are confined to work within the agreement stipulated by the governments regulations. However, they help in improving of labor standards. Human Rights The human right issue is a main international issue whereby all the actors take responsibility in ensuring that it is upheld. The state organizations have a considerable strength in ensuring that the human rights are upheld. As a result, the state organizations set the bills on human rights. The IGOs sets strong treaties that ensure the human right are upheld by the member countries. Similarly, the NGOs have a strong effect on the human right issue because of their independent status. The multinational organizations closely monitor the members set bills of human rights; hence also play a main role in the human right issue. Part 2: Similarities and Differences of the Roles of the Actors on the Issues in Consideration Similarities The different roles of the organizations have some similarities towards enhancing the issue being addressed. The roles of maintaining organizations to maintain international peace and security are similar in such a way that they all focus their efforts to the achievement of peace and security through the different levels of concerns. The actor’s roles advocate towards attaining a common role of ensuring that the international peace and security prevails. The role of sate in development is similar to other international organizations such that they all are adhered to see the development issues a success. The roles of the actors in human rights issue address on upholding of the bill of right stipulated in all the international organizations indicating a similar goal. Differences The roles of the actors on the issue of international peace and security have notable differences. The role of state is to ensure that peace and security prevails within the country while the IGOs, NGOs and Multinational Corporation focus more on enforcing rules to maintain peaceful relation between nations. The issue of development exhibits differences in the roles of the actors such that the state governs all the other actors despite their role of independently contributing towards the development issues. The state embarks on the national development strategy whereas the IGOs, NGOs and multinational corporations are more concerned with the people’s welfare improvement policies. The state organization, in the case of human right issues, is to formulate the various human right bills while tea other actors ensures that the state honors the rights in the way they handle the citizens. Consequently, the state role is to ensure that the bill of right is properly formulated while the IGOS, NGOS, and multinational corporation act as the watchdog of the citizens in the state assuring that the bills are followed.
