?Political Communication Public Opinion Poling Margaret Thatcher was a public figure and had massive influence in Great Britain. Thatcher taught that Britons should not love their businesses but hate the government. As such, most Britons inducted free market virtues which were directly championed her. According to polls conducted in Britain, it is estimated that 52 percent of the people support the fact that some businesses that are not competitive should be shut down. However, 27 percent believe that subsidies should be enacted to protect jobs. During the financial crisis, 45 percent of the people suggested that businesses sprout when they have freedom to control their businesses. However, 40 percent of the people suggested that businesses perform better when the government is n control. Apparently, 52 percent of the population believes that a company that makes profits in all financial years satisfies the shareholders, customers and employees. However, 32 percent believe that a company making profits is a sign that it is exploiting its customers. Consequentially, issues have been looming over control of public utilities like energy and water. According to polls, 61 percent believed that the public sector was suited to control these public utilities as compared to 26 percent that supported private sector controlling these public utilities. Though the people have diverse opinions on a number of issues, when they were asked what the government should do, 49 percent stated that the government should help protect jobs, ensure there is full employment and increase spending power in the economy. However, 41 percent preferred the government to lower prices, lower inflation and lower government borrowing. 2. Public Trust in Government MPs stated that the UK statistics authority has jeopardised the government statistics. A recent report stated that the UK statistics authority needed to work with utmost clarity and gain strict control measures while handling the data in departments. Andrew Dilnot was commended for highlighting the misinterpretation of official statistics and mentioned that the organisation should take an initiative of having greater control over the integrity and quality of the data. In addition to this, Dilnot stated that the concerned departments should limit pre-release of the data to ministers as it jeopardised the integrity and quality of the data. Apparently, it was explicitly expressed that the departments were “finding ways around” with the data, which was on the contrary according to the code of practice for government statistics. One of the recommendations from the report was that, the data should be presented in a clearer and accessible manner. Secondly, the authority should improve its website as it had several concerns. In wrapping up the point, a respondent stated that there should be fine tuning of the current governance arrangement, which would be an appropriate manoeuvre. 3. Body Language Body language is a form of communications where nonverbal signs are used. Experts state that body language makes a larger part of communication, which includes facial expression and body movements. Apparently, most of the things that people do not say can be conveyed to the audience and pass volumes of information. Researchers have stated that body language accounts for a better part of communication which is between 50 to 70 percent. Therefore, the audience should understand body language to get the full information that is relayed. However, it is also important to remember focusing on other cues in the context. Similarly, there is a need to look at the signals as a group rather than focusing on a single signal. This could lead to misinterpretation of the information that is relayed. 4. Current News In recent times, the Syria issue has been a news item in most of the media bulletins all over the globe. According to recent statistics, over 6,400 refugees have been recorded to have flocked to Jordan in fear of the unending violence. In recent time, Britain has provided a whooping ? 89.5 million to assist the country that is in shambles. In addition to this, the UK has pledged additional ? 21 million to be used by the affected people. Half of this money will be given to Jordan which is a neighbouring country. The number of refugees in Jordan is alarming, which led to the decision. The other half will be used to stock Syria with medical supplies, since the country is dealing with issues that have erupted after two years of violence. According Miss Greening, the situation in Syria is a man made crisis which could be avoided. In actual sense, the man behind the crisis is the president Bashir Al-Assad. Though this is a self inflicted problem, Miss Greening said that the country will not be left to deal with the problem alone. She stated that the country was in serious need of food. Therefore, some of the finances will be used to stock supplies of breads, flour and clothing as they are struggling with cold and shortages of food during winter. 5. PIC Campaign People find that politics is everywhere, even when they walk through towns. This is especially directed to the Times Square. People are left to wonder about some activities. For instance some billboards are placed high up in the sky, which is a practically unreachable place. However, there is a need to consider other factors that lead to such actions. For instance, people state influence of the organisation, politics or financial muscle. According to prevalent reports, it is stated that Ahmy was the latest celebrity, though the conditions are unclear about this figure. According to recent polls, 70 percent of Americans believe that Iran already has acquired nuclear weapons. However, IAEA states that there is no proof that Iran has already acquired the weapons. However, the prevalent issue is that Iran is a dangerous country that is controlled by Ahmadinejad. Therefore, he should be dealt with before the situation is out of control. 6. Public Pressure Hacked off is a group of victims whose phones have been hacked. The hacked off group was considering taking a legal action but engaged in last hour negotiations to resolve their differences between the three political groups. However, Jonathan Dimbley was not amazed by the induction of a regulator in the new press. Consequentially, the board was anxious about the political powers which indicated that the two thirds block was prone to abuse in the near future. On the other hand, Harris stated that the all party agreement meant that the press was more enhanced to perform its duties in recognising a regulator and then merge with it. Apparently, the victims are insinuating that the matters of detail are in the legislation surrounding and are not present in the charter. Therefore, Harris stated that there should be provision of exemplary damages, which would then facilitate the deal. When there is merging of a regulator, then the damages will be prevented. 7. Freedom of Information Act Article The main aim of this act is making provisions for disclosure of information that is in the public domain. Similarly, they should have information that is in the hands of the people that are offering services to the public. There are several provisions in this act. First, there is creation of statutory right to access information that is held by public authorities. Secondly, there is an exemption of some classes of information from disclosure. Thirdly, public bodies should publish information which includes listing of authorities that intend to publish the information. Lastly, the act provides the new information tribunal the right to enforce new rights. However, the bill received condemnation from Lord Mackay stating that it is a bad bill. Similarly, Elizabeth France stated that the bill was complex. In addition to this, liberty termed the bill as a “huge disappointment.” 8. Political Aspects of this Article with the Political Landscape of China 20 Years Ago One of the most important politicians in China in 2013 is Xi Jinping. One of the major challenges that should be highlighted by the new president is the issue of domestic demand. China needs to increase its domestic demand for products since it is a massive producer. This is a major development compared to China 20 years ago. The second major issue that should be highlighted is that of corruption. 20 years ago, corruption was rife in the country, both small and huge. Corruption is deeply rooted in the society and many people in the country are used to it as a norm. However, with the election of the new president, China is likely to record reduced corruption.
