This is because this condition is still ambiguous to most health care givers and even to patients. The condition has not yet been discovered as to why it happens. It has several causes that are related to it. The most difficult part about managing the condition is that the condition does not pose any signs and symptoms until the blood circulation is inhibited (Clark 2004). This is a condition whereby the arteries are blocked by cholesterol causing them to become hard and narrow. As a result they cause restriction in the normal blood flow of a human being. There is a connection in the way the human body works. This therefore means that if there is a problem therefore the whole body will be involved in the particular problem. Recent research has shown that the blockage of the arteries in the body that are either caused by plaques or by cholesterol have adverse effects. The effects can be summarized in two categories. When this situation takes place in the arteries, it is either normal flow of the blood is restricted in the body causing a problem with the organs or the blood is restricted from reaching the heart or the brain. The first condition is equally dangerous since if this occurs than the organs are likely to stop functioning well. This condition is serious since it may cause the said organs to become damaged completely. The later is also dangerous since the two parts of the body require enough blood for them to function well. If the blood stops flowing normally to this areas, there are two conditions that are associated with this problem; stroke and heart attack. A patient suffering from this condition is likely to succumb to it if early precautions are not taken (Geng 2005). There are several conditions that are related to atherosclerosis. As named below; heart attack, stroke, coronary heart illness and peripheral arterial disease are the most common ones. These conditions occur mostly for the same reason just that the location of the blood differs. From all this conditions it is dangerous for the patient since the most common ending is death. The first condition, heart attack, occurs when there is disruption of blood flow to the heart. The body has blood veins and arteries for the purposes of blood transportation. The heart is the life of the human body. It therefore should not lack blood at any point (Isner & Kearney1999). If this happens the heart is likely to stop and therefore meaning that the patient will die. Stroke is also a common condition in the medical field. It can be explained as the condition that occurs when the blood is stopped from reaching the brain. The brain has many functions in the body whereby one of the functions is controlling the activities of the body. Blood is like the fuel of the brain and if it happens not to reach the brain stroke is likely to occur. It is therefore a condition that happens mostly to patients suffering from atherosclerosis. Coronary heart illness is also a condition related to atherosclerosis. This condition in most cases occurs when the main artery which is the coronary, fails to take blood to the heart. This condition may lead to a heart attack and eventually death. As said earlier, the heart is the center of the body; it therefore implies that if its functionality is stopped then the human body dies (Maciejko 2004). The last condition mentioned earlier is the peripheral arterial disease. This condition is associated with the occurrence of blood failing to reach the lower part of the body. This includes that limbs and thighs. The lower part of the body as any part of the body requires oxygen in order to function well. This is practicable since oxygen is carried in the blood in which is transported to each and every part of the body. There are several causes that have been linked to the occurrence of atherosclerosis. The most common one is the lifestyle that a person has. This majorly includes that daily diet of a person. For example people who eat fatty foods often are at a higher risk of contracting the disease. This is because the deposition of fats and cholesterols are the ones associated with these conditions. Fats and cholesterols are often found in fatty unhealthy foods. It is also recommended by the nutritionists and doctors that people should choose their fats and oils well since there are bad oils and fats and good ones. There are also foods that have low cholesterol levels. Such foods should be increase in the diet and those with fats should be reduced. The other cause of atherosclerosis is lack of exercise (Reitsma 1979). Lack of exercise is very dangerous for many. This is because many people in the modern world eat unhealthy foods in their daily meals. These foods that contain lots of fats should be accompanied with a lot of exercises. Exercises are an important part of the daily life of a human being. This is because they help a person burn calories and fats. The deposition of fats is a dangerous condition that may lead to the fats and cholesterols depositing in the arteries instead. Smoking is also a predisposing factor for most people. This is according to a current research that revealed that people who smoke are at a high risk of acquiring atherosclerosis that those who do not smoke. It is therefore important to avoid this drug since it puts one at a high risk of contracting the disease. There are also other medical conditions that increase that risk of a patient to contact atherosclerosis. Type 1 and type 2 diabetes, hypertension and obesity are among the top listed conditions. In normal diagnosis a patient is likely to have these conditions because of either their genetics or their lifestyle. It is therefore important for people having this condition to ensure that they prevent themselves from contacting this disease since they are at a higher risk of the same (Schoenhagen 2005). In the medical field, there have been various researches that have been conducted in trying to treat atherosclerosis. Researchers have come up with several treatments that have been proved to work. Most of them are drugs that are administered in the prescription of a doctor. Patients are advised to adhere to the drug instructions in order to get the full utilization of the drug. A new drug that was discovered recently by research is sterolenz. This is a drug that has been found to be working marvelously and effectively. Even though it has been proved to have some side effects to the patient, it is still widely used in most health care systems. This drug has a composition of various drugs and content s that have been studied and found to reduce the chances of adverse effects of the disease. A group of doctors who were behind the new research, indicated that a patient should visit a physician whereby careful examination should be done on the patient. It is only after this procedure whereby the client should be given this drug. It should also be taken under the strict supervision of the physician (Schoenhagen 2005). It is important to note that this drug should be taken only after prescription by a doctor and should be taken in the correct dosage and strictly on time. It has also been revealed by research that this condition does not have any symptoms or signs that are associated to it. The research has also shown that it is possible for some people to use the drugs for a long time but not to encounter the side effects. In other words it can be said to be caused by the acceleration of the bone resorption. The availability of these substances in the drug causes the body to experience inhabitation in bone mineralization. The other condition, infertility, is also a common side effect of the drug. It is also important to note that there are also many more drugs that cause such side effects therefore it is not a problem with this one. Sterolenz is a drug that has been discovered to treat aetherosclerosis as illustrated above. However it contains a substance that inhibits the whole fertilization process. However, it has not been proved if this condition is reversible. The other side effect that has been associated with this drug is that of hyponatremia. This is a condition that has been associated with many drugs. It is a condition that can be explained as low sodium levels in the body. When this situation occurs, there occurs an imbalance in the body. This condition can be corrected but according to research it subsides after the client has stopped taking the drug. There are other side effects that have been related to this drug. This effects just like the other ones discussed earlier, are likely to occur of the patient takes high doses of sterolenz or if the patient takes the drugs for a very long time. They are conditions that have been present in the medical field. Research has been conducted to prove the association of these effects and the contents of the drugs. Myositis, liver damage and gall stones are among the major side effects that have been revealed by research (Clark 2004). Myositis is a condition that has been explained as the inflammation of the muscles. This condition is associated with muscle pains. Conclusion In conclusion, it is evident that the research conducted on this disease has been helpful to many. This is because this condition has in the past been associated with cardiovascular diseases which in turn lead to death. This condition claimed a lot of lives in the recent past. The discovery of sterolenz as a drug to treat atherosclerosis was an important discovery. Even though this drug has been associated with adverse side effects, it is important to acknowledge the fact that this drug works. The drug has been proved to contain some substances that inhibit the fertilization of the egg by the sperm. It is also said to reduce sodium levels in the body and to cause oesteomalacia. There are also other side effects that have been associated with this drug. Myositis, liver damage and gall stones are the common discussed effects. Even though this is the case, it has been proven by doctors that the side effects are reversible. The side effects have also been discovered to be at their highest effect when the patient takes in sterolenz in high dozes. Patients are asked to take their dozes of sterolenz in the dosage prescribed by the doctors. They are also advised to report any changes in their psychological daily conditions. This may be noticeable effects such as nausea, dizziness and persistent headache. There are some side effects that are hard to notice until the ultimate end.
