My goal professionally is to venture into this broad, and challenging field of reconstructive surgery with the aim of enabling children with deformities to live fulfilling lives. Having worked in a sick children's hospital assessing deformational plagiocephaly and cranial molding helmets in infants to support their normal development, I believe that a career in child reconstructive surgery would be the right path for me. This is in addition to the interest in children that I have developed throughout my life having worked as a children’s swim instructor in various instances.

In addition to working as a swim instructor, I developed leadership skills in the numerous volunteering positions that I held; in a lodge in organizing men’s activities, in Lion’s club, and in a Health Sciences Center, this I believe will be invaluable in my career growth. Therefore, my goal in the reconstructive surgery career is to seek excellence and personal satisfaction from the results of my work in affecting a child’s life. In the long term, I plan to be actively involved in developing child reconstructive procedures through active participation in research and conferences where I will be able to meet and interact with those in the same profession to keep myself abreast.

This will fit with my goal in life of being helpful and changing the lives of children. With that, I look forward to the patients whom I will help and in the process learn from.
