Personal ment My long time objective is to be at the top in the field of medicine. This dream has almost been accomplished. With the enthusiasm I have on this field, especially the biomedicine discipline, I am always enthusiastic about working hard in order to make my dreams come true. In this regard, I have to ensure that I utilize every distinct opportunity that comes my way, especially by maximizing the available services that are attached to the University of Melbourne. I am almost through with my first degree in Bachelor of Biomedical Science in this University. My past academic life has been that of interest in Science subjects. Since I joined the school at the age of five, I gained more interest in issues that relate to the general science which specifically talked about the basic things in life like diseases and their causes (Lyons 2011). Despite being brought up in a not so well family in the third world country and not able to attend the best schools, I performed extremely well in science subjects. When I graduated to senior school, my interest in Science grew more, and I decided to pursue whatever subject that related to science. I wanted to utilize my skills in science and research work and later work for Australian government. It is at this time that I decided to chase the dream of my life, a dream of becoming more knowledgeable in Science. When I enrolled for my undergraduate degree, I was exposed to various departments of Science. I made a choice to specialize with Biomedicine because I believe that, it has more impact to the society as compared to other sciences. A bachelor of Biomedicine entails the processes and systems that create, sustain and threaten life. In essence, it has prepared me for the challenge that pertains to the delivery of healthcare and biomedical research (Lyons 2011). Moreover, it has provided a foundation that has necessitated various programs that are health related. Never the less, I desire to increase my knowledge a notch higher. I want to gain a Masters in Genetic Counseling. Genetic Counseling is a sub discipline in biomedicine, which involves the knowledge of inherited diseases, their nature and consequences as advised to patients (Lyons 2011). I am confident that, by pursing the discipline, I will be able to narrow down my field of interest in a more professional manner and be able to deliver amicably especially when am backed up by my persistence, tenacity, motivation, cogency and the passion that drives me to this program. My enthusiastic venture in to the field of medicine can be traced back during my six months research program, a school based research for all undergraduate at the National Australian Hospital where I was an attaché e at the hospitals laboratory department. During this period, I was able to put the information that I had acquired in the class to test by access and verify the various reasons that leads to creates life, how the life of human beings could be sustained and how their life can further be threatened courtesy of the lab research that we used to embark on. Through the same research, we were able to provide innovative healthcare solutions to the ailing people. Additionally, we were able to give our contribution towards resolving the ageing issues through the provision of anti ageing medicine that are genuine and laboratory tested and management of chronic disease such cancer and heart attack(Lyons 2011). Apart from this, I was privileged to interact with other professionals who had come from various universities on a similar mission. Others included the nurses and doctor who required our assistance when they wanted clarifications based on pure research. I learnt and gained a lot of experience. This experience made me acquire and enhance my leadership traits. I believe this was helpful for me as I acquired communication skills, which are a requirement in all fields of profession. Needless to mention, I have received two awards related to Laboratory Research that was carried out by the National Hospital of Australia during my attachment pertain Prostrate Cancer. I have also been an active member of the cricket team in the university for the past four years. I have enjoyed the experience not withstanding the fame that has been bestowed to the teams by various stakeholders and the World Cricket Federation. With this vast knowledge, I am confident that I can handle most of the challenges that are associated with this field. In fact, I have established a place in the community where I, with assistance of other professionals are willing offer laboratory services which have been a challenge to the community for a number of years. With my long term objects well stipulated and my efforts channeled towards this project, I believe that I will have accomplished a fragment of my dreams which entails giving back to the society. Pertaining to this, I strongly believe that this institution stands out to be among the most reputable institutions in the field of medicine. For this undoubted reason, I consider it ideal to apply for a Masters program in Genetic Counseling (Lyons 2011). I am fully informed of the outstanding reputation of the institution with regard to being a student in the university for a period of seven years. My certain interest ha s been intensified by positive encouragement and recommendations from my former lectures and other alumnae, who are in the list of citing credits for the outstanding quality of education which has attracted people from all parts of the world. It is because of such deliberations that I count myself lucky to be identified with you. I have no misgivings that you will offer me a platform through which I will not only learn, but also utilize my skills in advancing my knowledge. Conclusion For any scholar, it is important to have some professional goals and motivation. They are not only good to me as a student/professional, but also important in that, they demonstrate ones interest for service delivery to the society. I believe your program will give me an opportunity towards this effect. The practical will help me put into practice what is covered in the syllabus and use some of the applications in real life situations. Bibliography: Lyons, I., 2011.
