The frameworks of the health care system are hospitals, clinics, and health care centers. Nursing services are integral to all levels and patterns of care, and nurses are the largest number of healthcare workers in the healthcare system (Mosby, 2009, n.p.). United States of America has the most advance and competitive healthcare system. The health care delivery system in the country is of high quality and healthcare is impressive and base on high technology. Medical practitioners graduated from top universities and nurses are also trained, skilled, and qualified with the best standards (Castro, 2009, n.p.).
Based upon observation, community hospitals are lacking nurses, physicians, and other members of the health care team. Despite of many registered and unemployed nurses, patients’ needs are not addressed effectively because of insufficient manpower and resources. In a government-owned community hospital, the facility is not as neat and clean compared to others. According to Florence Nightingale, a safe and clean environment and facility are one of the factors that contribute to faster healing of the patient.
Healthcare facilities such as ambulatory, hospice, psychiatric facilities, nursing homes, and hospitals require more improvement and development for the good of the public, but of course, must be under the approval of the Federal Health Department. Healthcare facilities also aim with the diagnosis, treatment the person suffering from pain, acute and chronic illness, disease, and deformity (Department of Health and Senior Services, 2010, n.p.).
According to her, the healthcare delivery system will continue to improve after 5 or more years due to the emergence of modern technology. Probably, healthcare facilities will improve and develop more and the national governments will focus extensively on the progress of health among nations. In addition, my relative stated that hospitals and their staff attend seminars, research, and free medical missions to far-flung areas to work together with the public health system. “I think there is coordination with the public health system and health care delivery system, but the main problem is the financial matters and budget,” she said.
Regarding healthcare delivery preparedness, she believed that the U.S. is well-prepared, competitive, and a problem-solver in case of an epidemic or bioterrorist attack as facilities and equipment are of high-technology and healthcare staff are provided with up-to-date knowledge and precaution system. Enhancing health system performance is based on improving the quality of health services. Existing laws and policies must focus more on every individual and the general population.
Future health care system will be more successful if the health department addresses the unattended “consumers” of care (the oppressed population) to accelerate the healthcare level and adopt the systems that will most likely reduce errors and improve the overall condition of health (Berenson & Lee, 2008, n.p.)
