Food is the first necessity of man. More specifically, the Chinese have an extra urge and love towards food. Indeed, each dynasty came up with new recipes. This led to the rise of the art of food preparation that reached its peak during the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911). In this context, Man Han Quan Xi referred to the dinner. Man Han Quan Xi incorporated the very best of Man and Han Cuisine.
Indeed, Man Han Quan Xi is highly esteemed as it involves countless dishes, each with its distinctive flavor and appeal (Online Confucius Institute). Because of a such long history of Chinese food, the development of catering industries in China is at a higher level. However, much Chinese care about the taste and ignore the health standards of their food supply. Indeed, catering industries equally pay less attention to sanitation, health, and safety standards. BODY There has been a series of complex works before restaurants began to sell cuisine.
One of them has been the origin of food ingredients. This was separate from sales of food in the restaurant. Food industries produce food ingredients. For instance, the fast food restaurant KFC has one of the most famous food suppliers in China called Zhu Cheng Food Company which provides chicken to KFC. However, there are questions as to whether KFC can guarantee safety in the supply of chicken. Indeed, there is no guarantee of this. Some suppliers profess adverse effects because of Chicken safety.
According to Mingang Lin, a professor at the University of Nanjing, and Jinliang Xu (2008), a professor at the University of Suzhou, food suppliers have negative motivations such as overstating the quality of food and adding unsafe materials to improve their profits. Unfortunately, this affects the health of the customers (p.1). Even though consumers may eat food in a reputable restaurant, this does not guarantee food safety. Due to different regions of food and the diversity of food, global trading becomes a common way that people to enjoy food.
Thus, the process of food transportation is essential for food safety. Indeed, food transportation spreads new threats from one country to another. For example, if we do not control pathogens in one country, potential food pathogens might spread to another country. Indeed, in 1996 and 1997, raspberries from Guatemala contaminated with the Cyclospora parasite caused outbreaks of illness in the United States and Canada. As Glavin Margaret O’K (2003) says, “The burden of foodborne disease includes both human suffering and the economic costs of medical care, lost productivity, and premature death” (p.206). Global food trade means food travels a long distance and over longer periods.
