The community-level barriers that will be discussed in this essay will focus on their influence in the health sector, and how these barriers bring about their effect on the health sector. One barrier that may bring conflict in a community is the financial capability of individuals in the community (Tulchinsky & Varavikova, 2009). For basic healthcare, there are certain financial factors that are to be considered. Financial capability is something that is very crucial if an individual is supposed to access the care that they require.

For example individuals whose income per year is below the poverty level. For such individuals, they are unable to access and seek health care because they are unable to pay for health care. So far, statistics show that without financial capability, then the level of care that one can access is limited to a low level kind of healthcare. Some individuals have to work extra hours in order to make ends meet and as such cannot attend clinics during working hours. For example, a woman who is pregnant is forced to work extra hours to make sure that they live a comfortable life.

Suppose the woman has an appointment with a clinic but cannot make it because the working hours do not support her going for a check-up. Taking up all this factors, it is possible to see how an individual may have financial problems and thus are not able to access medical care (Tulchinsky & Varavikova, 2009). A proposed solution for the problem would be to have such individuals insured as this would be about transparency. Insuring individuals with financial problems will ensure that they get the medical healthcare that they are funded and that they get the medical care that they require.

Another factor that would bring about a barrier in accessing healthcare is the policies that at some point bring about problems in the health sector. There are certain policies that involve the state, local and federal policies (Daniels, 2004). There are certain programs that are important in terms of the resource for low-income populations. Without policies that reduce the food prices, then there is bound to an imbalance that will be caused by the inability for persons to be capable to benefit from a healthy lifestyle (Basavanthappa, 2008).

Food prices have recently gone up and as a result, many individuals who have not been able access food that is needed to maintain their healthy lifestyle. Without the proper food prices, then there is the chances that people will unable to access the proper food substances and as such there will be an effect on the healthcare. For low level income earners, this comes as a disadvantage because they will not be able to access the proper food stuffs and this will only lead to more healthcare problems (Tulchinsky & Varavikova, 2009).

A proposed outlook on the food factors would require policies that help to maintain food security and bring the prices of food related products down to ensure a low level income earner manages to access healthy food products. Thus, are able to access proper healthcare. One other factor that is to be considered as a community barrier is the factor of transportation barrier and health access (Basavanthappa, 2008). Transportation barrier is a factor that is crucial for people who would like to access healthcare.
