Some of these patients were diagnosed with PCOS There were two treatment groups for this study with the first group receiving luteal-phase acupuncture and the second group receiving placebo acupuncture. The main outcome measure was the pregnancy or ongoing pregnancy of respondents. The study revealed that in the first group, the clinical pregnancy rate and the ongoing rate was significantly higher than in the second group. The informed consent of the participants was secured thereby lending validity and reliability to the results. In the study by So, et.al.
