The Bermuda Triangle This essay is primarily based on identifying the critically important facts related to the Bermuda Triangle or the Devil’s Triangle, which is considered by some to be one of the greatest unexplained mysteries in the world. Actually, the Bermuda Triangle is the name given to a region existing in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean where myriad aircrafts and ships have reportedly been disappeared mysteriously. Though, this mystery has actually remained a major source of confusion for some people, now with improved technologies and expert research teams in action today, this mystery has been largely reduced to a casual phenomenon considering the present version that the number of accidents that happened in the Bermuda Triangle were inaccurately recorded and the real percentage of casualties is actually just the same as that in any other region of the ocean. What actually makes this specific region of the Atlantic Ocean primarily fascinating and the reason why this region has amassed such immense worldwide attention over time is based on the fact that word of mouth has played a significant role in this issue which is discussed in this essay. People have rushed to associate supernatural explanations with the Bermuda Triangle due to which this region gained a mysterious aura in a short span of time. Along with contemplating the mystery of Bermuda Triangle historically, some majorly important characteristics related to it are also discussed and explained in the essay. Beginning with the important accidents that occurred in the Bermuda Triangle due to which it attracted massive attention, disappearance of an entire troop of bombers and planes without leaving behind a single trace are worth mentioning. Unexplained disasters led people to believe in the myths that there ought to be something deadly, monstrous, and heinous in the ocean due to which people, planes, and ships disappear to never get recovered. After the big incident of plane crashes in the Bermuda Triangle, the gateway to disasters opened up and myriad other disappearances began to be reported due to which this specific area became a highly talked about, riveting, and enthralling topic around the globe and research began on a large scale with no concrete facts revealed and ambiguity, confusion, and mystery ensued. Over time, headlights continued cropping up about more flights and ships along with hundred of innocent people vanished in the deep waters and no explanation was ever presented publicly other than the dark doubtful statements which led people to speculate that there had to be some supernatural phenomenon in action in that specific area of the Atlantic Ocean, never once stopping to consider the probable role played by natural calamities or human errors. One stark similarity among all the casualties which played a major role in spreading black doubts among the public was that the ships, planes, and aircraft which vanished in the ocean never showed up after some months as wreckage. Now wreckage forms important indicators of where actually the accident took place in case of sea crashes and as for the reported cases of aircraft, if they ever actually did happen, never any oil slicks were found in the ocean by the trackers which put a blind end to the search for authentic facts. It is not like the reasons for all the disasters which occurred in the Bermuda Triangle in the past were left uncovered, rather natural calamities and technical errors accounted for some accidents but, a large proportion of people still remained intent on relying on the supernatural explanations. UFOs and natural reasons form the widely speculated reasons for the disappearances occurring in the Bermuda Triangle of the Atlantic Ocean since the beginning. UFOs are unexplained anomalies which many people have claimed to witness though there is no concrete fact which can be associated with it. The fact that majority of these tragic incidents like plane crashes occurred in the beginning of the UFO era, that is the reason why people at that time blamed UFOs for the sad disappearances in the ocean waters. Wild rumors like UFOs gate crashing the ships and controlling the captains by disorienting them and forcing them to dive straight in the ocean strengthened the mysterious aura associated with the Bermuda Triangle due to which it rapidly gained the title of being the Devil’s Triangle. Later, media efforts led many people to side by the claim that there may be some natural anomalies in the Bermuda Triangle which caused every kind of objects passing through it to sink in the waters straight-off. Reasons laying the foundation for natural calamities include the troubled weather of the Bermuda Triangle which managed in whipping up strong and wild storms thus, causing planes and ships to submerge in the deep and cruel ocean waters for forever before any rescue team could be summoned from nearby. Given the fact that the Bermuda Triangle is a highly-traveled-through area, human errors may also account for some incidents that occurred there. “The Bermuda Triangle theorists are simply alarmists and most of the Bermuda Triangle facts that have been released to the public have been sensationalized to sell papers or magazines” (bermudatrianglefacts.com, 2011). Summing up, this remains a reality considering the above discussion that never any solid evidence was presented publicly due to which never any conclusion got to be supported by the public at large. One person intent on revealing the actual reality of the Bermuda Triangle, Mary Fuller, who also happens to be a magazine editor, contacted Lloyd’s of London for investigating the real statistics of the incidents. According to the facts showed by Lloyd, “428 vessels were reported missing throughout the world between 1955 and 1975, and there was no greater incidence of events occurring in the Bermuda Triangle than anywhere else in the world” (Obringer, 2011). Actually, evidence was never tried to be searched in the first place rather, fake authors hungry for earning some bucks by sensationalizing fake rumors and presenting them as riveting facts spread much confusion and mysterious approach around the globe. The Bermuda Triangle gained massive mysterious and notorious popularity because focus did not remain restricted on the actual number of casualties, rather research studies mention now that this specific area did not ever have an unusual or abnormal number of accidents.
