That’s why there is a need to understand the main reasons for such a dramatic shift. Many people accept a general point of view which proves that females are becoming more independent and try to surpass males in all spheres of life. Of course, this tendency cannot be left without attention as many empirical works were produced to consider this question. Much starts from education as today women outperform men not only in taking high positions but getting better grades at colleges and universities. Success of students depends on the pre-entry qualification, on the gender, age of entry to the university, information on their health status, area, ethnic origin, socio-economic background. The reasons why females are more successful students than men are based on the facts, that women spend much more time during their homework, are hardworking and better in pre-planned tasks. They attend more classes. Besides, boys mature more slowly than girls, they have higher incidence of behavioral problems. It is difficult for males to create an internal conversation between them and their instructors as they are lecturing. This means, that students have to anticipate and question actively what the lecturer says and sort or categorize the information, which is presented. Men participate only in those activities, which are interesting to them. Women pay attention to schedule and demonstrate that two hours of study for each class is right. As it is much easier and convenient to be ready for the class, rather than to rush to catch up in the days before exams, which is appropriate for males. Much depends on the subject, as females succeed more often in the field of medicine, law, psychology, etc. and are beginning to dominate the fields of mathematics and physics. But still, men show that they are better in entering on a turbulent career demonstrating a great desire to take a risk. They have the highest level of IQ and good analytical skills. There is a good example of a girl, who was encouraged in math. She went to high school for women, got degrees and scholarships and when she met mathematicians and tried to compete with them, who were predominantly men, she shocking understood, that she had no good and deep analytical abilities for math and level of knowledge expected of this girl professionally. So, a great number of empirical researches prove, that women are more successful students than men, they complete all assignments, work hard, have better motivation, which usually translate to better grades and enjoyment. INTRODUCTION Everyone knows that men and women are different. This is not only sexual dissimilarity, as many scientists prove that males and females also have differences in the way their brain processes language, information, cognition and emotion. That’s why these two sexes take different positions in the society and fulfill themselves in a different way. Today one can observe a dramatic shift from man’s status of workers, breadwinners and women’s position of mothers and family hearth keepers. It changes how women spend their days, which have a great effect throughout all nation. It fundamentally changes how all people work and live, not just women but also their families. Women as half of all workers change everything. Education is not exclusion. It is fairly well known that women today outnumber men in colleges. In 2003 there were 1.35 females for every male who graduated from a four-year college and 1.3 females for every male undergraduate (Hurlock, 1976 p. 78). In recent time women made a great progress in obtaining professional, business and doctoral degrees, they get higher rank and graduate from colleges far more often than young men. Nobody can dispute that women work harder than men. Female are more diligent, better in carrying out detailed and pre-planned tasks. For example, a woman can recall lists of words or paragraphs of the text better than a man. For this reason a great number of empirical works were undertaken in order to understand the main determinants of undergraduate degree performance. Of course, it is not an easy task to generalize all students, as many people will argue that being successful in studying is totally up to each person and has nothing to do with sex, if someone has the goal and the drive to make it in life, they will generally get there. In order to find out who are better students, men or women, statistical analysis of pre-academic achievements should be taken into consideration. Women obtain a greeter proportion of first class degrees and in this case it is impossible to overestimate the role of pre-entry qualification. However, a good degree of students is based on their gender, age of entry to the university, information on their health status, area, ethnic origin, socio-economic background. (Barrow, 2009 p. 579) Of course, it is very important to take into consideration how students are perceived by their professors, what roles are attributed to females and males and whether they take into account student’s sex differentiations at the serve of educational material. In fact, almost all literature is practically sexless and it is very difficult to find identical approach to both men and women. A great number of statistics has shown that today females outperform their male counterparts. One will meet advanced students more frequently among girls. There are not many females who fall behind. It is a fact, legging behind for a male is 2 times more frequent than for a female. It is not a surprise, that in spite of men’s higher intelligence, males are usually expelled from college more often. Another aspect in the reversal of the college gender gap, rather than just its elimination and success of women at the college is the persistence of behavioral and developmental differences between males and females. Boys often mature more slowly than girls. As a result, boys tend to have a higher incidence of behavioral problems (or lower level of non-cognitive skills) than girls. Girls spend more time doing homework than boys (Golden, 2006 p. 153). They are more nurture in the field of studying and careful in their decisions. Women show that they utilize more of their potential. “Boy problem” also starts very early. The main reason why boys fail is the push-down of the academic curriculum on to girls and boys too young to handle it — especially boys. Girls will sit quietly and do the work, but boys will not sit still for a phonics class, a writing assignment, or a math drill. But that is a thing they are being asked to do. As a result, boys fall behind right from the start, and are seen as troublesome. Lecture rooms are designed for the calmer and more-controlled girls, they agree with a set norm, and boys are seen as not serious and defective (Women dominating the ranks of college graduates – What’s the effect on America?). However, men have other characteristics, which give them a boost in career success. They are more courageous, bold, confident and ready to take a risk. There are many men, who have the highest level of IQ, possess ability for spatial perception, aggression, great competitiveness, desire for high achievement and a great need to dominate others. All of these impulses are consider to be biologically based and increase by social conditions. Some classes are boring, not interesting and at an inconvenient time. Women try to attend all of the classes in order to get a good result. Women study on schedule. They manage themselves properly by organizing their work according blocks of time, without distracting on a weekly basis. It is easier to get prepared for the class beforehand than being in hurry to do everything in the days before an exam. Men in most cases procrastinate their homework and do everything in the last possible hours. The difference of student’s results at colleges and universities also depends on the chosen subject and material produced by the professor. Females succeed more often in the field of medicine, law, psychology and are beginning to dominate these fields. However, they have been welcomed in science, engineering, and computer science programming for several decades, and are receiving great and fantastic incentives to enter math intensive fields, which boys are denied — they are even close to dominating fields that demand intensive math skills. (Terman, 1947 p. 123). In mathematics girls frequently get better grades than boys, even though boys score higher on tests of mathematical aptitude. But if a program they study is really tense and requires analytical and logical thinking males start to excel. CONCLUSION There are many ways that can bring success to students at colleges and universities. Many professors will recommend, that the goal setting should be regular mental exercises, which enhances chance for success in academic career. Another way to become successful is to be aware and set definite goals. It is obvious that, women are better in setting goals, they are more realistic and rational. They try to work hard and complete all assignments and attend all classes. They have a great locus of control and need for achievement (a preference for challenging but achievable tasks, and a willingness to work harder than required).
