Concepts of borderland The issues of borderland are vital in postcolonial regime. It is concerned with the creation of borders and boundaries in between nations, people, and individuals. The issue of boundary was crucial in the European land as it divided individuals into the Diaspora and the frontier and the bordering lands called the borderland. The existence of the borderland led to limited spaces, which dismantled the existence of binary land. There has been rise of hybrid types due to the liminal space between the Diaspora and the frontier (Herndl and Robyn 34-35).

These are very common ideas in the Caribbean areas of the Asian community. In the Chinese literature, most artists have used legends and folklore to bring out culture. The artists have used motifs and tropes to specify culture, show the real cultural identity, and define it in the rightful measures. With this kind of cultural specification, it differentiates the identity of the markers. The cultural identity is a subject to exploitation by the western media (Amridtjit and Schmidt 33). The following aspects were vital in china; the Asian writers adopted the abrogation, which was the rejection of a standard and correct form of writing by the colonial writers.

The inferior and marginal groups were segregated in the society. The segregation of language employed the method of appropriation, which alludes to how the other languages are using variants of one former language. The use of the colonizers language is like being imprisoned in the paradigm of the concepts of the colonizers. In the Asian countries like China, they have rejected the existence of a standard language in literatures of the postcolonial writings. This can be used to describe why there exists a wide variety of political organization, theatre, and history recording.

The people who involve in this come up with a correct and appropriate way of doing things. Agency is a vital aspect in the post-colonial regime and it refers to the tendency to perform an action and act accordingly. This hinges the ability of the individuals to be free and initiate identity construction. This aids colonial subjects from rejecting imperial powers over the subjects. This has led to subjectivity, which is the ideology of the human aspects, and these include language and discourse.

Bhabha and Spivak who were the main proponents in the Middle East especially the Asian communities seconded this theory (Amridjit and Schmidt 54). Furthermore, other aspects of the postcolonial times were allegory. Allegory has helped writers to bring out information on orthodox history and class realism. In 1986, after the third world war, Fredric Jameson asserted that all the world culture was a representation of national allegories. The statement was criticized by Stephen Slemon who referred to the issue as a Euro centric notion, which referred to all the colonized states.

This is the best way in which the literature had to represent itself in a counter discourse and represent colonial masters as valuable than the colonized (Amridtjit and Schmidt 60). The postcolonial men have ambivalent ideas. This refers to the repetitive demand of one thing fluctuating with the real opposite. Homi Bhabha is the main proponent of the theory and he described the repulsive and attractive behavior between the colonized and the colonizer. The colonized looses focus and never at any time opposes the colonizers (Herndl and Robyn 88-89).

In addition, there exists a difference between the colonized ideas; some conform while others resist the rule of the colonizers. Following this kind of thinking, some colonial masters can be exploitative while others may be nurturing. Ambivalence in colonialism gives rise to numerous issues ranging from the colonial masters being destructors and at the same time being constructive. In life, aspects such as colonialism can have two opposing views concerning the ideas versus the political struggle of the colonized.

Anti-colonialism refers to the situation in which people differ on the views on whether colonialism should exist in the cultural, economic, and political institutions. In this case, some people will value having own rule other than having the colonial rule over the people. In this regard, the western states have adopted the notion of nationalism versus the nation in the political structures. The anti-colonialism has also alluded to the issues of Marxist revolution. The notion is meant to explain the colonial influence and benefit over the colonized.

This leads to the three classes of people; the rich, middle class and the slaves where the rich exploit the poor. In Marxist movement, there arises the notion of class-consciousness and hegemony (Amridjit and Schmidt 84-85). In the modern Asian countries, binary ideas have been established defining binary ideas as two ideas that are related in one way or the other. There is the relationship between the signified and the signifier. Binary means that there exists two opposing ideas and thus are different, for instance man versus woman, a child versus an adult.

Imperialism falls under a binary thought whereby the colonized tend to view the world in terms of dominance and the dominated. This distinguishes between the periphery and the centre, the empire and the metropolis and the civilized and the primitive.
