 Managed care guidelines revolve around the preservation of the patient’s welfare in the resolution of the ethical dilemmas by the health professionals (Purtilo, 2011). According to these guidelines;1. Healthcare employees should focus on the welfare of patients. Compromising over the patient’s need and quality of treatment for fulfilling financial objectives is an unethical act. 2. The patient should be presented with all the reasonable options for the care and services which he/she can undertake regardless of any economical pressure.3. The confidentiality of patient’s data should be maintained.4. The research and teaching inpatient care should not be compromised for achieving financial benefits.5. The ethical principle of beneficence should be followed i.e. preventing illness and disease and promoting health.

The employee should have proper know-how of the ethical code of conduct. He/she should look into the guidelines crafted for the health care professionals before taking any kind of cost-saving decision. According to the ethical guidelines for managed care organizations that employee’s first priority should be to provide the best health care and services regardless of all find of economic and financial pressures.
