Download file to see previous pages This essay stresses that though in an industrially developed country, like the United Kingdom, majority of the people are food-secured, food-related health problems are associated with two major factors: first, health risks stem from their domestic food-handling practices which essentially infringe food safety and second, the health problems are associated with nutritional risks. Both these food-related pathologies, together, pressure high on the health in the European countries as well as in the United Kingdom.
This paper makes a conclusion that food preparation is one of the most critical stages in keeping the foods nutritious and safe to eat. In most cases, cross-contamination of foods with raw meat is the most common way of transferring salmonella, campylobacter and Escherichia coli with other foods found in the kitchen. For this reason, hand and food hygiene must be observed in order to prevent possible cross-contamination with raw meat. Based on the primary research findings, not all women in Medway, UK have sufficient knowledge with regards to the common techniques used in food handling, food preparation, and food storage. Since not all women in Medway, UK are highly skilled in managing contaminated foods, this study concludes that there is a strong need to deliver necessary health teaching intervention to help these women increase their ability to prepare foods that are safe for human consumption. ...Download file to see next pagesRead More
