It is widely accepted that skilled employees are considered as a company's asset, and losing people that are well equipped with the necessary attitude and abilities is not advisable for most organizations, as it could affect their business. Appealing to skilled employees and retaining them is difficult as such people have various options of jobs to choose from. However, employing individuals with all the necessary skills to effectively execute the task at hand is not sufficient to aid an organization attain and exceed its objectives (Joo and McLean, 2006; Thomas, 2000).

It is important to appropriately handle skilled employees to guide them in performing their work actively, and are deeply engaged in both their work and the company they work for. It is not enough that such employees only report for work and deliver the sub-standard quality of work; it is imperative that such individuals would be operating at their optimum capacity (Frank, Finnegan and Taylor, 2004; Rothbard, 2001).An organization's success is derived from an employee's competence, commitment, and contribution to the company.

It is imperative to know that one's performance is not only dependent on an employee's competencies but is also influenced by how individuals feel towards their job and the organization they work for.  This is why employee engagement is essential for both management and human resource development. As studies indicate, a highly engaged individual is dedicated to working due to intrinsic factors that the company brings, such as equality in the workforce, being acknowledged and recognized, and being provided with opportunities to grow within the company.

It reduces one's financial compensation motivation or other extrinsic factors (Gebauer, Lowman, and Gordon, 2008).During the previous years, Vietnam Airlines have continuously modified and improved the roles and functions of each individual employed in the company, which implies the acknowledgment to the premise that better performance and service can be provided through progressive sustainable reforms to fully grasp that a business.
