Most people know that the hydro power is renewable and therefore enables them to understand the effects it has. Evidence- The authors cite the global average emissions of CO2 as 173kg and Methane as 2.95kg per MWh electricity produced. Author/Qualifications- Laura Scherer and Stephan Pfister Publisher- The Journal of PLOS Timeliness-Current published online on 14th September 2016 Annotation- Scherer, and Pfister observed that the hydropower though it is renewable it leads to 273Kg CO2e/MWh of the power of electricity produced. Though it is below the amount generated by the fossil fuels, the countries should come up with ways of handling it. As a result, they conclude by suggesting use of reservoirs to store the methane and emissions.
