?Does the emergence of a global media improve our understanding of international politics? International politics has changed its in the last 3-4 decades due to the fact that the global media has become stronger. The strength has largely been credited upon the shoulders of the people who are at the helm of affairs within the media organizations and the state machineries, which are essentially the governmental functions. What is significant to comprehend here is the fact that the entire premise of global media has come about of age, as there is immense importance laid on the fact that the world needs to move ahead and thus get acquainted with the norms and routines of the society, as and when these shape up. Therefore the emergence of a global media has enhanced the chances of understanding how international politics across states has expanded and how the same has meant a much better horizon than was imagined by the people in the yesteryears. This paper discusses how the global media has turned in a new leaf within the global political spheres and what this means for the sake of the globalization drive which is rampant all over the world. It is important first and foremost to understand how the international politics are handled by the reins of the global media. There is a dire need to know that the global media comprises of all those actors and stakeholders who are present between the viewers, readers and attention grabbers, and the news-makers. This means that the global media comprises of a number of different people, not all of which represent a singular entity at the same time (Goldberg, 1997). The viewer could be the one who is involved within the dissemination of information or he could be someone who breaks the news to the people spread in different corners of the world. What remains important meanwhile is how well the people have coped up with the pressure realms that has been entrusted upon them, and how adequately appropriate their respective stances have come about within the aegis of the international politics in this day and age. The global media makes sure that the avenues of international politics are kept covered no matter how difficult it is to partake in the entire exercise. The different political events and issues are studied at length, analyzed and discussed for days at stretch. This puts the media persons under a spell because they need to be at their best and give in what is required of them in the long run scheme of things. Their jobs are well cut out because there is a lot of expectation from them, and they must deliver to move ahead in the coming times. The role of the global media is therefore to undertake efforts which shall give mileage to international politics, its relevant actors, stakeholders, the end beneficiaries and so on. This is an interesting understanding because the global media has to be on its feet at all times and manifest its truest basis consistently. This has been proven with solid research and experience that has come to the fore regarding the global media and its linkage with the international political forces (Semati, 2004). The understanding of international politics has been there because this entity has been under discussion in nearly all spheres of life. This implicates for the excessive use of the international political manifestations within the lives of the citizens of the land, and in nearly all their undertakings – all of which are centered on the premise of bringing in sanity within the related ranks. The international political understandings have been supplemented with the ideology of the global media coming to their rescue. This has essentially meant that the political details regarding different parties, groups and factions has generally been made stronger with the changing times, and the emphasis of the same has rested on the shoulders of the ones who are running the global media domains. It is a fact that the political manifestations of the present times have relied staunchly on the hiring of the right people who could convey their message in the most apt manner that there possibly is. This has implicated for the presence of the avenues which can get the message from one end to another, and speak of the political process’ varied usage of media and not to forget the publicity stunts which are held every now and so often. Similarly, the political leaders are represented duly by the manner under which they are present on the screen or in the print. If their presence is not warranted, then this means that they are lagging far behind within the world politics. As people require of their leaders to be present at all times, no matter on the screen or in the print alone, what they really want is spice at the end of the day. This spice is because of the enjoyment aspect which is there in the form of democracy – for one’s betterment or the lack of it thereof. By making use of the media, the political realms are bringing their leaders and the aspiring ones into a close association with the general publics. And thus finding out ways and means through which new dimensions of public-political linkages are created. International politics has come about of age as the citizens of the state have realized that they need to be told about the different dimensions of the area, region or state that they are a part of. They must be told about the different aspects of the political linkages, associations and break-ups that keep on happening every now and then (Comstock, 2005). The role of the global media within such dimensions is to make sure that the people stand up and make their voice get heard at the end of the day. The domains of international politics are such that there must be immense understanding regarding its inner structures, factions and processes. If this does not take place in an amicable way, then perhaps there have been a number of significant missing elements that have come to the reckoning all the same. However, if these political changes are happening with the direct relationship which has been formed up by the global media, then this means that there are corrective measures, all of which are aimed at building a higher and better association level with the publics. Within the times of today, politics has attained a significant role. It seems more like a relationship with the audience. The connection of the individual with the political actors, the stakeholders and so on seems like a reality that has dawned upon the entire society. The manner in which he is constantly bombarded with slogans, party songs, messages and the awareness projects suggest that the role of global media is all the more important in this day and age. This is because the global media has been able to turn things around, and make people believe of the shortfalls as well as the magnanimous strengths that remain hidden within the international politics. It is important that the right mixture of people is taken into consideration as far as the choosing of the stakeholders for the global media are concerned. This shall make the tasks of the channel owners, the print managers and so on very easy because then they would know how to tackle the bubble of the international politics, which is being given significance by the different avenues of the global media. As a matter of fact, the politically correct media has gained due attention in the wake of the elections, the referendums and the political activities, as and when these have come to the fore. The politically correct media has manifested its different forms and ways through an understanding of the politics of the land as well as the one which is being displayed on a global basis. The right amount of messages for a political party suggests that the media avenues are being handled properly, and when the same messages are sent through different media forms, the accomplishment of the global media comes about in entirety as far as the international political domains are concerned. As the debate of the international politics is being assisted by the global media, there is an important discussion on how the politically correct media has played its due role. This has meant that the stakes are too high within the related regimes, and it is about time that the international political angles and manifestations be handled in a correct way more than anything else (Echols, 2002). The politically correct media must deliver on the premise of quality in terms of its content that is propagated via the global media and its different forms and representations. The politically correct media brings to light the notion of the people, for which the entire global media is in existence. If this global media does not bring forward the positive aspects that are present within the world politics, then this is tantamount to a lot of negativities within the related settings, and in the end the people will start getting alienated from such ranks. What is most important here is an understanding that the global media has to play its due role and that too at such a notice that there will be immense understandings for the varied stakeholders in different regions of the world. The examples are many and the roles are inter-twined with one another. What is necessary here is an ideology to set things right and let the correct message be propagated to the right mix of people. This will solve the anomalies that remain within the midst of the global media when one links up the same with the international politics. The best thing about the global media is that the masses are its global audiences. What this suggests is the fact that the global media attracts the attention of the people from different parts of the world, and thus gives rise to the feeling that the international politics is being covered in different areas and regions of the world. When the United States President gets elected, the people in Syria and Taiwan watch it with equal interest. When there is a political turmoil in India, the masses within Jordan and Kenya are glued to their screens (Prato, 2004). When there are tensions on the West Bank, the individuals sitting in Botswana watch it with a sense of skepticism. What the global media has done in essence is to tell all and sundry the exact ideology of the political spectrum and then gone ahead and brought about a difference that is there for the taking (Hayden, 2004). The recent incidents of political changeovers within Egypt and a few other African countries have been seen with interest throughout the world. This is because whatever has been happening in one part of the world has an indirect bearing on the rest of globe. This has a very negative effect on the people because they have started to believe that the global media is there for telling them how and where the repercussions are going to be, and what kind of changes do exist within the related regimes. In the end, it is significant to comprehend the fact that the global media has got its due role within the relevant scheme of things. The way under which the international politics is being handled is something that paves the way for immense success and accomplishment in the same domains. What is required now is a vision to set things right and that too within the shortest possible time. This will set the ball rolling for the international politics and tell all and sundry how the global media plays its quintessential role (Craig, 2004). This is important because there have been recent examples of the media being the father figure, and thus bringing about a change for the better, for the sake of the people. All said and done, the role of the global media is immense within the understandings that are reached upon under the aegis of the international politics. Now is the time to harbor in a change that suggests a positive link for the widespread people in the world. References Comstock, G., 2005. The Psychology of Media and Politics.
