?Full and section number of The War on Terror produces more terrorism Immediately after the shocking 9/11 attacks, US declared a global war on terror. Since then there has been a debate whether the war on terror gives the desired results. George W. Bush and his supporters insist on the importance of fighting terror with war. Bush decided to deploy military force, uphold democracy in the Middle East. Bush offered liberal wartime powers to the commander in chief. Critics of Bush, however, questioned the usefulness of ‘war on terror’. According to them, terror should be dealt with in a different way. Even though certain democrats accept the fact that applying force is necessary in certain cases, a complete solution can be achieved only by improving the ideological appeal and moral authority of the United States. More efficient democracy and smarter techniques to better relationship between nations would help reduce terror in the world. Improving cooperation among nations would eliminate misunderstandings and other issues that generates enmity between nations. According to the critics of Bush, the war on terror has contributed only in creating more terrorists. War on terror has not eliminated terror from the face of the earth. War on Terror produces more terrorism. The United States should change course completely as war on terror is expected to give birth to more terrorists. War on terror is not the right action as it cannot wipe out terror. The war on terror is found to be causing more terrorism. According to new reports the United States has played a major role in making the world more terror-filled. The world has become unsafe not just for non-Americans, but for Americans as well. The war on terror has given birth to more terrorism. Innocent people in different parts of the world are suffering because of the ‘Iraq effect’. Invasion and occupation of lands by British and American forces have made thousands of people loss their lives. A research study about terrorist attacks that happened after the invasion in 2003 confirms the fact that war on terror is the force that triggers violence in various parts of the world. Even though Tony Blair and George Bush repeatedly denied that war on terror is causing more terror, studies show that terrorism has increased after US attempts to check terrorism. Research studies have been performed to study the effect of Iraq issue on global terrorism. According to the research, the number of people lost their lives in jihadist attacks in different parts of the world has increased dramatically after the beginning of the Iraq war in 2003. The research compared the events between Sep 11, 2001 and the attack of Iraq. Excluding the Arab-Israel conflict, the count of deaths increased from 729 to 5420. Apart from conflicts in Europe, wars happened in Kashmir and Chechnya. The Centre on Law and Security (in NYU Foundation) who performed the research reported that there has been a steady rise in the number of deaths due to war and conflicts. After the attack on Iraq, terrorist activities have increased considerably. War on terror has contributed to more terrorist activities on various parts of the world. According to the reports Iraq became the reason for a fierce fundamentalist reaction that caused more terror. Iraq affairs have encouraged more terrorist attacks that ever before. Muslim activists and terrorists became more active than ever after Iraq affairs. The number of people killed by Islamists in Iraq increased from 7 to 3,122. Afghanistan also witnessed an increase in terrorist activities as the British and US forces invaded them after the attacks of Sep 11. The number of deaths in Afghanistan was few in 2003. The number of deaths increased to 802 since then. In the conflicts at Chechen, the number of deaths increased from 234 to 497. In the Kashmir issue, Pakistan and India had their number of deaths increase from 182 to 489. Europe that had zero deaths had it increased to 297 in the terror activities. War on terror has only contributed to more deaths and more terror. After few years of announcing ‘mission accomplished’ in Iraq, US President opined that in order to keep the enemies idle, it is important to fight and destroy them. If no action is taken against them, they would be destroying Americans across the world. By trying to destroy the terrorists in Iraq, Americans are saving themselves from the threat of Islamic terrorists. However, War on terror has been found to be bringing more threat to US citizens and people of different nations of the world. After Iraq invasion innumerable terrorist attacks have happened in different corners of the world. India, Pakistan and several other countries have been victims several times. Muslim activists have encroached into all zones of the world. They have gained more confidence that makes them plan and accomplish more attacks. War or terror has not discouraged Muslim terrorists. War on terror produces more terrorism. Mr Blair opined that Iraq war has not contributed to different Muslim fundamentalist attacks, like the 7/7 London attacks that killed more than 50 people. According to Blair, Iraq, the surrounding nations and the whole world is safe without Saddam. The British Prime Minister later sent 1400 extra troops to Afghanistan, increasing the British force in Afghanistan. The British Prime Minister denied that there is a relationship between Iraq war and other security issues. However, reports that presented facts and figures said that Iraq war has increased the fury of al-Qa'ida and similar terrorist organizations. There has been an extensive growth in terrorism, particularly Islamic extremism, after the attack on Iraq. Even the US administration's own National Intelligence Estimate says that Iraq war has generated more jihadists. According to their reports Iraq war has given birth to a new generation of terrorist workers and leaders. Yet another study says that Iraq war has only increased the popularity of al-Qa'ida ideologies. This has made several people resort to terrorism. Number of terrorist operatives and leaders has increased considerably. Yet another study gives the report that Iraq war has made a big increase in the number of dangerous jihadist attacks. This has resulted in hundreds of terrorist attacks that kill several innocent civilians. Apart from the terrorist activities in Iraq and Afghanistan, other parts of the world are also highly affected by terrorist activities. Terrorist attacks in other parts of the world have increased by almost one fourth. Studies have focused on the rate of terrorist attacks on two periods, Sep 2001 – March 2003 and March 2003 – September 2006. The research has made use of information from terrorism databases that give exact information about terrorism attacks. The report says that Iraq invasion has a big impact in later terrorist activities. US governments and British governments’ plan to destroy Saddam Hussein has only encouraged more Muslims to engage in terrorist activities. Iraq invasion made more effects on Muslims compared to Afghanistan invasion two years back. Iraq attack videos have been videoed and put in television and internet. Young teenagers are inspired and trained for becoming suicide bombers. Iraq attack has boosted the spirit of young Muslims who want to fight against US policies. This has increased the rate of terrorist attacks. Muslims extremists have taken War on Terror as a big challenge. In Afghanistan, the famous Taliban commander, Mullah Dadullah have explained the way Iraq war influenced the struggle found in Afghanistan. The proof of his point is visible in the increase of suicide bombings in Afghanistan. This increase was not found during the ten years of war with Russia. The heavy influence of Iraq affairs on different jihadist conflicts is because of different reasons. The jihadist groups in Arab countries, Afghanistan and Europe are highly affected by the Iraq war. Russia has also used the terminology ‘war on terror’ for its actions in Chechnya. Al- Qa'ida, together with their associates has established themselves in the borders of Pakistan. From there they have launched attacks on Pakistan and India, typically Kashmir. The number of conflicts in Arab-Israel affairs has also increased since Iraq invasion. Ever since US started with their War on Terror approach, conflicts have been rising considerably. Though US is constantly denying that War on Terror has discouraged terrorist attacks, statistics show that there has been a rise in the number of attacks, suicide bombings and other terrorist attacks. War on terror has therefore contributed to an increase of terrorist activities. War on Terror is a defective strategy that has failed in deactivating terrorists and Muslim activists. Even though US claim that War on Terror has made the world a safer place, statistics of terrorists attack around the world after US attacks on Iraq proves that War on Terror has failed to check terrorist activities. War on Terror produces more terrorism. The United States should change course completely as war on terror is expected to give birth to more terrorists. War on terror is not the right action as it cannot wipe out terror. Bibliography Mann, J., 2004. Peace signs: the anti-war movement illustrated. Zurich, Switzerland: Edition Olms Zurich.
