I plan to pursue further studies \ in MSC in Accounting and Finance. Right now, I am in the process of completing BSC degree in Accounting and Finance. In preparation for my desire to pursue further studies in Accounting and Finance, I managed to maintain competitive grades of 76 and 68 in Financial Accounting 1 and 2 respectively. In preparation for higher education, the overall IELTS grade I got between 2007 to 2008 was 7.5. For two years, I worked as a society treasurer in our community where I managed to improve my technical knowledge in bookkeeping, direct financial planning, future investment and disbursement of the available funds.
On behalf of the community, I was given the authority to demand receipts for cash disbursement. As a society treasurer, I was exposed to situations wherein I had to personally deal with different government and non-government organizations. Aside from working closely with other volunteer workers, I managed to improve my communicate skills as I work with other people. This made me strengthen my self-confidence when delivering public presentation concerning the actual usage of the community funds.
In relation to corporate governance, I am aware that I am accountable for honest accounting and financial practices. Therefore, I strictly follow the guidelines established and implemented by the trustees of the board which forms the society governance. In my 1 month internship in international settlement department of a bank during the summer period of 2009, I learned that the Bank for International Settlements acts as the world’s central bank. In line with this, the international settlement department of a bank is responsible not only in offering the public with the available non-moving assets of the bank but also making important decision with regards to fixed-rate monetary investments, transactions concerning foreign exchange rate, and investment on short-term credits.
Aside from regularly conducting economic research studies, the Bank for International Settlements is made responsible in promoting a sound relationship among the central banks. As a child, I grew up in _____ (which country/state). My father who is a successful financial analyst in one of the well-known banks in UK inspired me to master theories related to Accounting and Finance. Since then, I started learning the basic accounting and finance theories through self-study. At a very young age, my parents taught me the value and importance of having a strong and stable career path.
Since my parents has guided and taught me how to become independent, I managed to become self-supporting, self-motivated and self-directed ever since I was a high school student. As an individual, I am known for being friendly and career-oriented person. Most of the time, my friends would approach me whenever they need to answer questions on subjects related to financial accounting, management accounting, management analysis, and portfolio theory and financial markets. Among these major subjects, I have gained competitive knowledge in portfolio theory and financial markets and management accounting 2 in which I managed to earn a score of 77 and 75 respectively.
My previous life experiences moulded me to become strong and develop a solid determination in life. As a student, I have always been active when it comes to class discussion and school-related affairs. Even though I am facing a lot of pressure in my academic pursuant, I managed to allocate some of my time for social gatherings and exposure to different work environment. Because of my ability to balance work and leisure, I was able to strengthen my knowledge and skills not only when it comes to critical thinking but also my ability to make important decision-making and solve life- and work-related problems.
