Marketing work Executive Summary: Considering the increase in the global competition particularly in business, every organization tendsto focus on incorporating innovative measures such that they can gain competitive advantage over other competitors. Registered charities assisting the financial donors and entrepreneurs connecting them on a common platform also encounter the similar competition and challenges. This particular study has taken into consideration a registered charity named Globalgiving and thus focused on an environmental study of the organization. This reflected on the different factors internal as well as external to the organization that are strengths, weaknesses, opportunities or threats for the organization thus delivering some measures as recommendations that might enable the organization to keep up its position in the industry. Introduction: In order to develop plans for any new project, or business and for the purpose of its marketing, often the need for a charity might occur. In such cases, registered charities are essential for the purpose to be fulfilled. Globalgiving is one such registered charity organization that allows the donation from donors in different projects as well as assist in the initiation of new projects across the US and the UK. The Globalgiving provides with the opportunities of getting connected to large number of donors as well as project initiators thus enhancing the chances and of the project or the business to reach out in the public. Through Globalgiving, the new projects have the opportunity to present their ideas and causes behind along with contribution from the different donors for the successful achievement of the plan. In other words, new plans get the opportunity to raise funds by presenting their thoughts and participating in the challenges as organized by the organization (How Globalgiving works, 2011). The present study focuses on an analysis of the environmental factors associated with the registered charity thus studying its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and realizing the competitive advantage of the organization in regard to its objectives and goals. As far as the Globalgiving charity organization is concerned, the most effectively working factor is an excellent team. The organization believes in hiring people who are ardent and committed to their work. The purpose of the organization is to consider all the new and good plans for the achievement of a better world to live in. The team is accordingly worked out thus accepting and supporting the new and exciting plans for the common masses, as proposed by different individuals or groups (Our team, 2011). In regard to the customers and suppliers of the organization, it can be obtained that Globalgiving efficiently brings in the connection between the individuals or groups who are interested to donate for the causes and those who come up with the new plans and projects to be listed in the charity (How Globalgiving works, 2011). The macro environmental factors can be understood to be associated with the political, economic, social, technological, environmental and legal implications as reflected by the charity organization. As far as the Globalgiving charity is concerned, it can be realized that the organization has created a position of its own in the industry thereby having donors and new projects listed for its website. Its tendency of welcoming new plans can be understood to have a positive effect on the society as well as the economic conditions of business in a country. However, in this context it can also be stated that success of the organization and support of the new plans might be expected to create newer competitors for the charity organizations. In regard to Globalgiving as well, several other registered charities are available across the US and the UK thus influencing on the political and social implications of the business. The technological power of the organization seems to be in tune with the needs of the new plans coming up. Also, the environmental issues are taken utmost care of by the organization thus keeping a focus on the organization’s position as registered charity in the industry and known among the donors as well as individuals or groups introducing newer plans. SWOT Analysis: The registered charities like the Globalgiving can be understood to perform one of the most important tasks of letting the world know of the new plans that come up among the young minds or different individuals and groups, particularly for the benefit of the world as a whole. Secondly, they arrange for the financial needs for the implementation of the plan successfully. Be it any new idea for the purpose of helping the environment or the poor people on earth, or be it any product or service for the help of the people, Globalgiving provides platform connecting the donors and the receivers. Thus the most important strength of the charity lies in its opportunity that has been recognized by individuals and hence gaining utmost importance. However the weakness of the organization lies in its presentation that is based online through its website. It might prove to be less visible to the entire world. The threats of the charity organization arise from the presence and availability of several other registered charities that play the similar roles for the newer plans as well as the donors of finances. However, Globalgiving can concentrate on its opportunities that are associated with its recognition and thus try to focus on more and more listing of newer projects towards the betterment of the world. It can be stated in this context that greater the number of fresh and newer projects and higher the amounts of financial donations, the charity would prove to be more successful in comparison to its competitors. Competitive Advantage: The countries in the US and the UK have several charities that are not only related to the purposes of business, but also involved in the environmental benefits thus including plans and assistance for animals, communities, the aged people, human rights and several other departments (The Premier Guide and List of Charities in the UK, 2011). Thus while determining the competitive advantage of the charity, two significant points can be considered. On one hand, it can be mentioned here that unlike the several charities that are involved in only social and environmental purposes, Globalgiving has come out with a platform for sharing different ideas that can be beneficial for the community as a whole. This might be even new business plans. Along with the representations of the plans, donors also get the opportunity to take part in the implementation of the plan. This in other words proves to be of greater competitive advantage for the organization. On the other hand, it can be discussed that since a large database of charities are already available in different corners of the world, and many of such charities also involved in working for the community as a whole, individuals would have different options for their financial donations or listing of projects. This is other words might affect the advantage of the charity. Before raising funds for the new project, Globalgiving takes into consideration all the details of the project as well as the causes thus focusing significantly on the benefits that the community would obtain from the new plan (Nominate your organization, 2011). Thus in regard to Globalgiving, the charity organization can be understood to have a competitive advantage. However, the environmental factors also imply that the organization needs to consider all relevant factors while they perform their activities in order to keep their position in the industry. Recommendations and the Likely Reactions of the Competitors: Keeping in view the competitive world of business, it can be realized that every organization needs to focus on initiating newer and innovative measures in its performance in order to gain competitive advantages over its competitors. Since Globalgiving is performing towards connecting the fund donors and different project entrepreneurs, it can be realized that the charity organization would be in great demand. At the same time, several online sites would take part in the industry competition since this would prove to be of huge benefits for the success of the business as well. Thus, considering the level of competition it can be suggested to Globalgiving that they can incorporate newer measures that can attract more donors as well as project initiators. One such method could be to initiate measures of teaching the donors about the market and the industry. This would enable them to understand where to invest their funds. If a proper learning can be presented to them, they would find themselves more confident and secured while donating their funds in the charity, particularly when they are involved in donating for new entrepreneurs. The above issue proves to be of significant concerns since with the increasing number of online charity sites; there is a probability that donors would be confused with their choices and decisions. If a particular organization, in this case the Globalgiving, is capable of focusing on this particular area of concern, chances of gaining more donors would be possible, which is necessary for the success of the organization as a whole and also for the entrepreneurs who intend to raise funds. In regard to this, it can also be understood that once Globalgiving initiates such measures in its performances, other similar organizations would tend to start the similar measures thus increasing the level of competition. It can however be said that considering the current status of the level of competition as other charity organizations are coming online, initiation of such a program would prove to be of much benefits for Globalgiving. However, considering the increasing competition, Globalgiving also requires to consider relevant measures while this step can attract donors and entrepreneurs for some period of time. In other words, the primary recommendation for the organization would be to continuously focus on changing and innovative measures to lead the industry in this context thus keeping the donors and entrepreneurs engaged with the site as well as attracting newer individuals and groups. Assumptions on Future Marketplace: From the above study as well as from the present situation in relation to increasing number of businesses, it can be understood that the level of competition in the near future would increase to an immense extent. Greater numbers of entrepreneurs are taking initiatives in incorporating their newer and innovative plans with the needs and demands of the market. Thus there can be expected to be an increasing level of competition and struggle to deliver in order to keep up their relevant positions in the industry. In regard to the charity organizations, particularly those providing a platform and connecting donors and entrepreneurs online, the competition can be expected to be more intense since such online sites can be understood to be huge benefits for the new businesses to get initiated and implemented successfully. Thus a future of the marketplace can be assumed where more number of such online sites would be developed and the competitions would increase in attracting the donors for donating through their sites, and for entrepreneurs to list their projects and plans through their sites. In the near future, while donors would plan for their donation, they would consider a number of such online sites, and then decide after a significant analysis to determine which site and which project would be the best for their investment. The primary reason for this state would be availability of large number of options in comparison to the present times. Thus from a study of the current status and based on the needs and demands of individuals and groups of entrepreneurs, it can be assumed that the marketplace in regard to charity organizations for businesses would develop to an immense extent. Conclusion: The above study has thrown light on the roles of the charity organizations in initiating connections between the fund donors and the entrepreneurs coming up with new projects. Globalgiving that has been considered for this particular study is a charity organization that has been successfully connecting different fund donors with different entrepreneurs. The study has reflected on how the organization has been able to create its position in the industry increasing its demand and successfully managing the different environmental factors that have the capability to have significant effects on the functioning of an organization. While Globalgiving has its strengths and opportunities, at the same time, the increasing level of competition and the greater number of online sites developing in this industry can be understood to create concerns for the organization. This in other words would mean that the charity needs to focus on different innovative measures in order to attract and retain customers for its business. Considering the availability of several sites and assuming that in the near future, more of such sites would develop, thus Globalgiving needs to focus on its strategies accordingly and create innovative measures such that it can maintain its position in the long run.
