The historically deep roots of racial and social profiling are a major reason why Latinos keep on staggering along these paths of economic and social despondency. This has paralyzed their ability to move up the ladder of success.
Comparably, the situation of Asian-American women is different as they have deliberately sought for their economic freedom by crowding an industry they are sure will sustain them. The nail industry is on the majority of Asian-American women break the chains of economic bondage that come with race and class. Race and class have been used, in this case, for their benefit. Asian women are predisposed historically to artwork and due to the growing demand for manicure and nail care, this has provided a better opportunity. This is an upward mobility factor.
In conclusion, the two communities lie on different sides of the scale as one has sought to use race and class to its benefit.
