Ten Years after the 9/11 I like the suggestions posted on the ten years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. This is because the government has failed to inform the citizens on the outcomes of their investigations. It is apparent that the attack caught the security agencies unaware and they did not respond in good time (Schonfeld, 2011). The author believes that, after ten years, more things ought to have been performed to restore the trust of the citizens on the intelligence services. I also side with this author because he offers suggestions concerning ways of avoiding future attacks and being responsive to the citizens. Terrorist attacks are on the rise across the world and the groups are using new ways of assaulting their targets.
I feel that America is now safer since the 9/11 because more departments were constituted to handle the security affairs of the country. For instance, the airports and other entry points are properly protected and this limits the chances of the terrorist accessing the country. Similarly, with the introduction of the new Homeland Security Laws, security organs are coordinating through sharing of vital information (Schonfeld, 2011). This is essential since it establishes cooperation and the chain of command among the national security teams that protect the citizens. The Homeland Security Laws have ensured that there is no repeat of the 9/11 and all people should help in the fight against that threat. Considering this, the US is safer now and people are conducting their affairs without fear of being attacked by the insurgent groups.

Firstly, it argues that the disregard for human rights and international humanitarian law has made the United States lose its credibility, at a time of heightened global awareness on human rights principles. Secondly, it argues that the US government ignored or neglected the War in Drugs, and focused primarily on Islam as the main enemy without seeing how American society is slowly but surely being contaminated... with the...

Media and 9/11

.... Unlike that aquatic symbiosis, though, while each needs the other each also mistrusts the other. The Press relies on government's acknowledgment of 1st Amendment rights - a free and uncensored press - while the government relies on the press to accurately - and beneficially - report what it is doing for the country. Following the attacks of 9/11, The New York Times (hereafter referred to as The Times) developed a Topic Phrase: 'After the Attacks.' This phrase preceded every article pertaining to 9/11 and the World Trade Center. But on September 18th, The Times changed that Topic Phrase to 'A Nation Challenged.' This phrase, in a less assertive...

...Controlling Irrational Fears after 9/11 The essay “Controlling Irrational Fears after 9/11” describes emotional and psychological impact of news stories on life of American citizens and their perception of terrorism and its threats. The author argues that the media and the public pay too much attention to the problem of terrorist attacks and their consequences for the American nation. The responses were “irrational to a great extent, and to that extent Americans unwittingly cooperated with the terrorist in achieving a major goal” (“Controlling Irrational Fears after 9/11”). The responses cause fear and anxiety among peaceful populations. To some extent, it must be acknowledged that the fear of Arab terrorism among the American... scale...
