Similarly, the song expresses “As the flames climbed into the clouds/I wanted to fix this/But couldn’t stop from tearing it down” (13-15). The boy wants to end his father’s activity of burning barns of people who mistreat them. However, he could not do anything about it. He is too powerless.
Quote/motto: “Be honest, even if others are not, will not and can not.” This quote exemplifies the reason why the boy runs away from his family. He cannot take his father’s ways. In the movie, Tom Cruise does not actually run away from his family but he needs to survive on his own, thus travels to America. The film is fitting for the boy wants to prove himself and start a new life.
Theme song: “Titanium” by David Guetta. This song talks about how strong a person is despite his sufferings. In the story, Abner experiences demarcation and brutality of his society, especially of those in the higher ranks but such are also due to his own ill doing. He is indifferent as he lets his hog roam around people’s farm, dirties an expensive rug, and burns barns of his enemies. For the crimes he commits, he is belittled, detested and sued, to which he responds with a more sadistic blow but not in front of his enemy. In the song, ...Download file to see next pagesRead More
