The song is specifically apt for the ending of the story where he walks out and gets lost in the woods, not knowing where to go. Similarly, the song expresses “As the flames climbed into the clouds/I wanted to fix this/But couldn’t stop from tearing it down” (13-15). The boy wants to end his father’s activity of burning barns of people who mistreat them. However, he could not do anything about it. He is too powerless.
Quote/motto: “Be honest, even if others are not, will not and can not.” This quote exemplifies the reason why the boy runs away from his family. He cannot take his father’s ways. Instead of staying home, he decides to inform Major de Spain about his father’s plan although it is too late and the barn has been burned. That night he decides to squeal about barn burning, he is full of frustrations yet stands for what he believes in even though his whole family is against it.
Favorite movie: “Far and Away” starring Tom Cruise because Sartoris seems to face the world alone at the end. The line that says, “He did not look back” implies that he departs from his family and starts on his own. Indeed, it would be difficult for him to come back to them knowing what he has done. In the movie, Tom Cruise does not actually run away from his family but he needs to survive on his own, thus travels to America. The film is fitting for the boy wants to prove himself and start a new life.
Theme song: “Titanium” by David Guetta. This song talks about how strong a person is despite his sufferings. In the story, Abner experiences demarcation and brutality of his society, especially of those in the higher ranks but such are also due to his own ill doing. He is indifferent as he lets his hog roam around people’s farm, dirties an expensive rug, and burns barns of his enemies. For the crimes he commits, he is belittled, detested and sued, to which he responds with a more sadistic blow but not in front of his enemy. In the song,

Introduction The short story ‘Barn Burning’, written by William Faulkner, is a story that throws a light on the concept of psychological slavery in human beings. Through the characters of the story, Faulkner has described how human beings become a victim of slavery even when they have a choice of living a free and happy life.
William Faulkner’s Barn Burning is a short story that details the life of a child who moves from town to town because his father constantly burns the barns of the people with whom they are staying. The story functions as an investigation into social class and moral responsibility.
The choice of words used in a poem contributes a great deal towards the thematic concerns of a poem and the mood that the poem will set. Prosodic features of a poem entail aspects such as intonation, stress, and rhythm. Theodore Roethke in‘My Papa’s Waltz’creatively uses rhythm and rhyme, and to a lesser degree irony to convey his message to the reader.
Theodore Roethke, in this poem, has talked about elements of love, fear, and a bit of tension in the relationship of father and son. One of the characters is the son, who narrates that the waltz his father is performing in the kitchen is not easy.
“Barn Burning” Without question, one of the most discussed topics with relation to William Faulkner’s “Barn Burning” is in relation to the conflict that evolves between Sartoris and his father Abner Snopes. Although this has been discussed to a great deal, the reason for this is due to the fact that it is such a salient and powerful mechanism in this particular story.
Though the mother is also in the picture, it is primarily about the father-son relationship. Despite the sense of discomfort that the imagery suggests, a sense of deep love, that cannot be denied, prevails. The son is seen submitting to his father’s wishes.
The family seems to be in existence outside the society and outside the law, and their moral code is about the loyalty of the family rather than the conventional notions of wrong or right. Sartoris is told by Snopes that he needs to remain loyal to his family, or he will be alone.
The difficulty in this poem is in the narrator's recall of a childhood memory. A son dances with his drunken father. The reader is unable to decide, based solely on the text, if the dance is good natured or something much more cruel. People who read this poem usually have different responses and find different meaning within the poem.
But the determined father would do virtually anything in order to be seen as impressing him. Such dancing posed serious difficulty to Waltz. The two would engage in noisy games and do wild runs and jumps. In the kitchen,
