Literacy I remember this moment in my childhood like it was just yesterday. I had an argument with my parents. We were fighting about some small things like dish washing or another toy they didn’t want to buy me, I don’t really remember. I was yelling at them almost hysterically, then I went to my bedroom, full of unbearable emotions and I just didn’t know how to relieve the stress I felt. I grabbed the first notepad from my table and started writing. The text I was writing more looked like some steam of consciousness, with a lot of disordered phrases and words. Sometimes I even got destructed from the main point I was writing about and started to write some random descriptions of the things that came into my mind. After a half an hour of constant writing I felt like my head was empty and I stopped feeling anything. My hand was tired and hurt so I thrown the pen on the table and tipped back in my armchair. I was looking at the messy nonsense, written on the pages of text I had produced. It seemed weird to me because I hadn’t realized the fact that I was able to transfer myself, my feelings and everything on a simple piece of paper before that moment. It was like I was looking at myself in the text. Even though it was nonsense, everything there was clear for me. I felt that being literate is a some essential feature of my essence and it even seemed to me that my deep unconscious can talk to my conscious through my literacy. Read More

...? Soccer is one of the greatest games of all time. It is also called football by some as the concept of the game itself is to kick the ball. Soccer is now a very popular sport among children and even young adults and has an interesting evolution on how it became the soccer that we know today. Soccer is an English word that was originally from the word association, referring to the Football Association. It is the habit of schoolboys to give nicknames to words, and as the tendency is to add –er to words, it became “assocer’ which then later became soccer. It is difficult to say exactly where soccer originated as there have been several games from different countries that have the same foundations as the soccer game that we know... Soccer is one ...

...? Topic: Lecturer: Presentation: Creating Positive Self-Image Perception is “a process by which individuals organize and interpret their sensory impressions in order to give meaning to their environment” (Robbins, 119). What people perceive is not the reality; what a person believes to be true is essentially true for them. Our perceptions are shaped by our past experiences, motives, interests, expectations, attitudes, target and the situation. The behavior of a person is thus based on our perceptions of what reality is and not reality itself that is why different people have a tendency of interpreting the same situation differently. In our daily lives, we always tend to portray a positive image by shaping the perceptions of others...

... ENG I agree with Richard Lederer’s assertion that most people in the U.S. converse differently than I do. Apparently, it is a fact that we are comfortable with the way we talk yet we feel that others talk weirdly. I do agree with Lederer’s statement because I have had the opportunity to interact with numerous people including my friends, family and neighbors. Everyone speaks differently and isquite comfortablewith their English regardless of the possibility of bad English in their talk. In my neighborhood, I have folks from Arkansas, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Philadelphia and other descents.
