Charlie Hebdo Attack The Charlie Hebdo shooting took place on 7th January 12, at 10.30 UTC when two gun men made their way to the offices of a French satirical magazine in Paris (BBC News, para1). The gunmen killed twelve people in what appeared to be a militant attack by Islamist diehards. Among those who lost their lives were three well known cartoonists and an editor. Two police officers responding to the raised alarm also died.
A major police operation was started immediately after the attackers left the building to find the two people who are said to have fled by car. According to BBC News, this assault was no doubt an act of terrorism and the French government termed it as one of the deadliest in the country since 1961 (para 3).The masked gunmen got to the building, opened fire using assault rifles and later exchanged fire with the police in the street before escaping. The car they used was later found abandoned in Rue de Meaux in Northern Paris.
The reason for the hit is said to be the hatred of the Charlie Hebdo cartoons, which make jokes about Muslim leaders and Mohammed. This magazine has had a controversial history due to its continued ridicule of Islam and various leaders who subscribe to the religion. BBC News says that the publication had gone to an extent of displaying Mohamed in one of its covers in 2011 (para 5), something prohibited in the faith. The aggression was, therefore, a way of silencing it and showing disapproval of its work.

...racial diversity among managers and employees through immersion, encouraging them to observe the strengths and weaknesses of other managers and employees that they could use to improve their own services. Learning from a wider variety of racial mixture gives managers the chance to widen their scope of observation as well especially when it comes to preferences, attitudes and customer service desired. Seeing other people do their responsibilities in a setting where racial and gender diversity is encouraged will also benefits the managers and employees by letting them see that there is no harm in showing their true natures. That, they do not have to pretend to be somebody they are not only...

Women would likely make up a larger part of her market than men. Many competitors of Maryanna’s business will likely emerge. A person could simply learn what she knows and does and create their own nameology business. But because she has gained a wide following and is considered one of the first to come up with “nameology,” she would likely still have a competitive edge. People could also enter her market and offer a lower price for similar services since the price of $399 might seem a little steep just for some guidance and advice. Probably the...

Symbolism has been used in the narration to depict the situation of nudism. Yoffe opens the article invoking the thought of the reader by colouring it with many symbols. The use of the word “Hidden Bush” to refer to the nude camp has a deeper meaning. The name is very descriptive. This place is not only a hidden place...

The Senator says, "Australias migration program cannot be determined by the courses studied by international students.” He has said that the Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL) is outdated and has one hundred and six occupations, many of which are less skilled and no longer in demand. The Efficacy of the Opening Paragraph

...was not effective enough in capturing my attention. For me, it lacks interest. There was nothing familiar in North Richmond Street that could spark my interest that though it was an exact location that could symbolize any typical English suburban street during the early 18th century, it was insignificant, detached; greatly because it was very time/ era –specific, it was not timeless. So for me living in the 21st century who cannot fully appreciate “porcelain vase’s,” “flowered tea-set’s,” “chalices,” and “petticoat’s,” the opening paragraph was not satisfying. If I were to gauge the whole story based on the opening...

Moreover, Cresswell states that there are 275 Australians who develop diabetes per day, which matches Robotham’s statement that 100,000 Australians develop diabetes annually. Differences While both Cresswell’s and Robotham’s articles have many similarities, they also have some differences. First, Cresswell discusses in his article a study in 1999 to 2000 involving 11, 247 participants while Robotham did not mention this at all. Second, Cresswell also mentions that aside from the 275 individuals who develop diabetes daily, there are already one millions Australians who have the disease. Robotham does not...
