In the poem she focuses on the bible to convey her message on religion. She asserts that the bible is written by men who are faded and is an antique volume. She gives a suggestion on holy specter. She outlines the effect that the bible has on the people. She considers those boys who believe in the bible and worship God are lonesome. The poet believes that those boys who believe in the word of God are few compared to the other ones whom she considers as lost. The word lost has been used to refer to the number of young men who are more in number and do not believe in the bible. The word antique has been outlined by the poet to differentiate between those who don’t believe and those who believe (Dickson, 2591). The bible for example has been utilized to alienate the non believers and the believers. The deeply held conviction among the believers is seen not to have any bearings. The believers who are less in numbers are trying to find God by finding out that relationship that existed between him and the people who lived long time ago as presented by the bible. The poet acknowledges that those looking for God’s guidance through the bible posses a relationship that is second hand to the loving and deeply personal God. Many of the boys who don’t believe tend to reject God because they believe that he is impersonal and outdated. She claims that the problem lies with the type of presentation that exists. The use of the word warble is however interesting. Calling song bird images to mind is a subtle nod aimed at bringing out her confidence in connection to the almighty God. She asserts that the people should be used to condemn people but has to lead them toward improving their relationships with the almighty God. She utilizes the poem in educating the youths and young men to seek God through studying the bible. She also advices preachers to avoid condemning the young men through use the bible. She uses the word; it didn’t condemn referring to the bible as the word of God (Dickson, 2591). Emily Dickson is seen to support the pagan and to criticize and make a mockery of God in most of her poems. The antireligious tone in most of her poems has been avoided in literature studies to paint a better picture to the society. The poet has used the bible as a mean of ensuring her message is able to reach the people. The term boys are symbolic and have been used to refer the many the people in the world. Dickson is easily appreciated and understood when people agree with her, but she turns out to be difficult, cryptic and mysterious in cases of disagreement. In the poem she cites the bible as a volume that she refers to as antique (Dickson, 2591). She begins the poem by acknowledging the bible and its vital roles in the society. She asserts that the bible is a literary text which is standard with characters such as Satan, Judas and David. She also brings out their roles. She refers to Satan as a brigadier and Judas a great defaulter. She associates sin with precipice that is distinguished. She advocates that people should avoid sins at all cost. She uses the poem to criticize the Christianity religion by claiming that the bible is used by the many preachers to impact fear in the people with an intention of generating allegiance. She claims in the in line 14 that the boys can be changed to become believers in a case where they are not condemned by the sermons that is presented by the religious leaders. She advocates that non believers should be approached in quite a different manner. They should be welcomed and entreated through pleasures and song. The sermon presented should be captivating as well illustrated in line sixteen. The sermon presented by Orpheus did not condemn the people but it was only meant to attract them and convince them through pleasure and song. The poet has used the second line to assert that the bible was written long time ago and the authors are long gone (Dickson, 2591). Even though the bible was written long time ago, the message is still fresh and call for believers to utilize it and boost their relationship with the almighty God. The church insists on spiritual capitulation that is total. The church has utilized the bible in the process to ensure impart fear and condemn those who aren’t believers. Dickinson has criticized the approach advocating for an approach that is more attractive. She advocates the use of songs and other pleasures to be in cooperated in the teachings and the preachers are to avoid creating fear among both the believers and the non believers. In the first three lines Emily present the bible as a holy doctrine. Skeptism is presented by her mocking tone. She implies that the people who authored the bible existed many years ago. She then domesticates scenes and quickly summarizes the characters of the bible. She relates the characters to everyday’s sin and virtues. Line nine up to twelve is based on criticism. Emily Dickinson criticizes the self righteous teacher’s way of teaching. She believes that the non believers are not to be changed through fear. The preachers are to welcome the boys or the young people to the church through using songs and other ways that are appealing to the people (Dickson, 2591). She employs a joking and fanciful mood to bring out the message in the poem. She uses the term thrilling in the ninth line to imply a typic, bonnie, spacious, tropic, warbling, friendly, pungent, ardent and mellow. She affirms that that the preachers can tell the bible stories in a much interesting manner than it is told in the usual way. The preachers can use adventure story description to the audience especially the young men and women with an intention of attracting them to the church and for them to become believers.
