They are getting married soon and still they have their little conflicts and misunderstanding. Nevertheless, they act consciously and soberly and hope to turn their primary hostility into love: Titania and Oberon is another case. This is a couple of two strong individuals. Each of them wants to be the leader and to impose the power on the other. Nobody wants to have a compromise with this little “changeling boy”. Titania is not drugged with anything and her choice is explained by her proud character and conflicting nature of her personality.

But apparently the queen Titania is more stubborn and hostile to her husband and needs to be more obedient as a woman. Oberon hints her o that in one of the replicas: He claims that he did not control himself and was not able to differentiate between his real intensions and his new obsession. But now his love to Hermina reminds him a childish toy he loved so much but does not feel anything now it except for some vague nostalgia. Childhood is used as a metaphor here because children are often too emotional about some things.

They can cry about toys or broken sand castles that seem great for them at one moment and soon forget about these things completely. And Demetrius blames some unknown powers that controlled him. Later he compares his temporary madness to mental sickness: After tis sickness is gone he is capable of tasting, thinking, reasoning. So the nature of behavior of these three characters is different with Titania`s and Hyppolita`s behavior explained by their types of characters while Demetrius`s deeds were driven by his madness, sickness.

And as readers we have privilege to know that he is right as the man was under the influence of magic. The Wife of Bath`s Prologue ends with triumph of the wife over her last husband and her gaining this sovereignty so desired by all the women.
