Towards the end, the author offers several methods of reducing stress including biofeedback, self-motivation, and systematic self-desensitization. The book specifically provides coping methods for college students demonstrating an understanding of their context and scenarios that lead to stress. There are useful ‘suggested activities’ at the end of each chapter that engage the readers and allow an assessment of causative factors for stress.
Strengths: Only towards the beginning, the author clears the ambiguity regarding the definition of stress and all other related conditions by providing a college-level assessment of the term. The explanations provided throughout the book are easy to understand and follow, which makes collection of information easier. The presence of ‘suggested activities’ at the end of each chapter enables a useful analysis of an individual’s personal stress level. Overall, the book is an informative resource for understanding stress, its effect on college students and how its impact can be mitigated.
Weaknesses: Since the resource is a book, it is not peer-reviewed although the publishers may have reviewed the authenticity of the cited sources. Also, rather than providing empirical findings, the books deals more with the theoretical foundations underlying stress and the associated terms. Although the book is informative, the author has made less effort to describe its correlation with other variables impacting college students. The book is more of a theoretical resource rather than one involving a research question and subsequently its findings.
Relevance to task: The book is focused towards stress among college students being relevant to our research subject. Throughout the book, ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

Hemingway: War in His Short Stories

...?Annotated bibliography: Hemingway: War in His Short Stories Barloon, Jim. “Very Short Stories: The Miniaturization of War in Hemingway's ‘In Our Time.’” Hemingway Review 24.2 (2005): 5-17. Print. Barloon suggests that Hemingway miniaturizes the concept of war in In Our Time. Barloon believes that Hemingway thinks that war cannot be faced directly or projected directly in a narrative. Instead, it can only be understood from its bits and pieces, such as in short stories, since the sum of war is hard to grasp. This is a good article, since it offers the insight that Hemingway sees the war story as a fragmented effort. No one can fully understand the war and its effects on different people and groups. People can only try... bibliography:...

Considering “the average student spends $900 on textbooks annually,” she thinks “the need for solutions is increasingly urgent” (Allen 4). She goes into some detail around what she calls “market failure that hinders the economic checks and balances that naturally regulate costs” (6) as the reason publishers charge so much. Grade point average and sleep relation

...? Effects of Sleep on GPA Task: Effects of Sleep on GPA Present research holds that unsatisfactory sleep contributes significantly to its preceding activities. This is not only on an adult's work presentation, but also on how sound students perform at school. Young students who suffer sleep interruptions are likely to receive awful grades (Weisler, 2012). Current research on sleep deprivation among students proves that students with inferior grade point average (GPA) are likely to experience restlessness and difficulties in concentrating during the day. Therefore, this manuscript has annotated several articles that address the effects of sleep deprivation on a student’s GPA. They are empirical, as well as theoretical papers... Effects of...
