Poetry/Compare levels of Diction Diction in literature is a stylistic devise that use to convey their intended message and express their innermost feelings. In the poem translation, Adrienne points out the way hunger strike the society making people maneuver amid the abject poverty. In her poem translation, Adrienne is able to show how women are obsessed with love to men who do not even have space for them. When the phone rings and the man responsible does not bother to pick it. This issue of men neglecting women put across how men picture women as tools of love who are not given chances to express themselves.

The poet further goes ahead to show how women have just been trained to make love and nothing else. Diction comes out very clearly when he says that, “with love, our subjects have been trained as ivy on the walls, been baked like bread in the oven “This shows how men are able to manipulate women, reducing them to mere subjects of love (Angelou 2009, p. 49). Despite these issues, women do not have a say in the family, as men brutally sit on them.In her poem Quarto, the poet is able to evidence with clarity the magnitude of war in the battlefield.

When he says in the third stanza that ‘cemeteries of remorse and beaten champions sobbing, the poet is able to capture the terrible mood in the battlefield concerning the war. This clearly draws a terrible and deadly scene in the mind of the reader. The Authors’ selective use of price repeatedly greatly emphasizes the benefit begotten of any bad event like war. He tries to show the negative consequences of war in a community affected by war. The author pictures himself being victorious when he talks about his unwillingness to surrender despite the enemies’ arrows all over.

His determination not only comes out When she talks about live being a typed line, she tries to show how human beings follow the normal course of living of a male dominated society. Indeed, she satirically points out how women are suffering as victims of male dominated society.Celman is another famous poet in the literary arena. Diction is the most dominant stylistic devise that she carefully uses to breathe out her views in the society that mainly circumnavigates the home life of women (Angelou 2009, p. 94). When she talks about a store that lacks windows and resembles a prison, Coleman clearly exposes the misery tormenting women in the society.

The picture created in the minds of the readers is so emotional that leaves readers with a lot of pity to women. The use of diction comes out clearly; when she also talks about, she hates the aroma of fresh-nuked popcorn rushing her nose. This is symbolized how women watch helplessly as they see good opportunities pass them while she remains imprisoned by the status quo in the society. She clearly manifests the hard domestic life women are going through because of their societal repositioning.

The opinion of men towards women is explicitly exposed by the authors’ wise use of words like eyes follow me everywhere I go as neon signs that shout shoplifter. Coleman intentionally wanted o show how men have misinterpreted the good role women are supposed to play negatively. Neon signs usually used to attract customers is symbolic since it depicts how contrary men view women negatively in the society.Diction comes as a powerful mouthpiece for Adrienne in unearthing the challenges women go through and remain silent in their lives.

When she talks about children having caused her the most exquisite problems ever in her live, the reader is left wondering why since children are suppose to bring joy to the mother. She goes likens this to murderous alterations that come between resentments (Angelou 2009, p. 74). These lines make the mind of the reader be clouded with mixed feelings of sadness. She sparingly breaths out the home life problems that mothers o through in the process of bringing up their children as poverty, sickness and skirmishes catalyzed by the nature gender exploitation in the society.

Indeed, the battle women are going through is tailor made by men dominated by selfish personal gains.ReferenceAngelou, M. (2009). My Arkansas. Random House LLC.
