Emotional Connection In the book Feed written by M.T. Anderson, it is clear that emotional connection plus lack of itseems to be the overriding theme based on the way the characters interact with each other. For instance, Titus has Link and Marty as friends, together with Loga, Calista and Quendy. Their friendship is based on them going to school together plus having being in close proximity to each other as most of them lived in same neighborhood (Anderson 12). In addition, Titus is also seen in the book to be romantically in love with Violet.
Titus really loves Violet for whom she is. In return, Violet also loves Tim in return and they cherish their strong relationship (Anderson 23). In the book, Titus family relationship is also exposed. Titus is seen to spend less time with his parents and brother when compared to his friends. In the book, we are able to meet Titus family members, though we can see that he spent little time with them. The family feels as if Titus has drifted away from the family (Anderson 45). Titus feels as if his family members would deter him from his present relationship with Viola.
Furthermore, Violet relationship is much better compared to Titus with the parents. In Titus’ world, use of technology somehow interferes with real relationship. Titus spends more time and connects with age mates who use the same technology, but becomes disadvantages when it comes to making relationship with his parents and brothers. Work CitedAnderson, M.T.
