Allowing these drugs will increase the likelihood of abuse and accelerate the adverse effects of the drugs. In this light, I feel that all athletes who use performance enhancement drugs should be banned from the sport competition.
There are numerous reasons why athletes have had the urge to use performance enhancement drugs to improve on their athletic skills. To begin with, performance enhancement drugs help them to increase their running power and develop toned muscles that are crucial in the sports competitions. This gives them the synergy to retain the power of performing better during the sporting events. Evidently, since 1988, only 10 athletes have completed the hundred metres race, and most of them have used the dopants to empower their speed. Secondly, the athletes use performance enhancement drugs to reduce their stress and increase their ability to relax (Smith Para. 5). Just like any sporting activity, athletics subject the athletes to extreme emotional fatigue that may influence their performance in the field. These dopants have a relaxant effect that helps athletes to reduce their fatigue. For instance, the German athletes used these drugs to reduce stress and enhance their performance in the international sports competition. The fact that these drugs have helped athletes to enhance their performance it has become a tempting option for many athletes.
One reason why sporting managers should ban the use of performance enhancement drugs in the sporting completion is due to the bad health impact of these dopants to both male and female athletes. Performance enhancement drugs such as anabolic steroids are potential sources of strength during training. On the other hand, they are responsible for causing liver diseases, jaundice, depression and aggression. These are serious health impacts that may become a burden to them and their families in future.

Sports people have used PEDs for a long time since the Greek and Roman age. During earlier years, coaches provided their sports men with their own recipes that included mixtures of strychnine.
The use of performance-enhancing drugs in the sports area has been in existence since the ancient Maya and Greece (Jeffrey, Jose, and Douglas 12). Performance potions were used by the Greeks to enhance their abilities, while cocoa leaves were used by the Maya for the same purpose as the Greeks’.
Proponents of the use of drugs to improve performance state that it improves physical and mental versatility, and this can be in no way harmful. However, the opponents state that human beings are intelligent enough as they are and have made many strides without aid. Aiding this advancement using drug use would lower the value of any work done by an individual. This means that the use of drugs would reduce the importance of hard work and reduce the impact of many earned successes.
Athletes will not stop using them just because they are not legal. They will just become sophisticated in hiding the use of performance enhancing drugs to avoid detection. Athletes are very competitive and they will always seek for ways to improve their performance whatever it takes and that includes taking performance enhancing drugs.
These substances range from caffeine, a constituent of beverages frequently consumed in many societies, through the generally socially tolerated drugs, such as alcohol and marijuana, to the hard, addictive drugs such as the narcotic analgesics related to heroin and morphine and the psychomotor stimulants such as cocaine.
