Presented by: Introduction Among the few female Willa Cather has an effect on literature. This is because of her exquisite and achievements in the time when there were few writers. Willa entire life was influential to her literary work and simple in nature. Within her life she was able to overcome mundane life which made her to change her experiences in life to a literary work that is appreciated by many generations in the world. Her original name was Willela but was changed after the death of her younger sister who passed away when she was a child. She changed her name because when she was a child she had changed her name and named after her Uncle William. The Willa Cather Literary work is based on telling the truths of a certain period and place. This is the reason why she became an inventor in American fiction. For example, her work vibrates not only with oral language of usual people but also with visual pictures that assist the readers to view the place truly (Robinson, 1983). However, some of her detractors praised her for writing about the common people in a common language. Most themes of her writing in the stories are usually associated with the adventure of moving to another place. In addition, her strong sense of place pervades works is incorporated into the themes of her work. Cather is a modernist writer because of using a unique theme in her writing. She was devoted to her writing and took risks of whatever she did. However, many people did not appreciate the truth in her writing but Cather continued to show the reality of life through her writing. The way she risked in her writing greatly influenced her literature in the world. The rising volume of critical focus to Cather in its own confirms her conspicuous place in American literary history. The growing interest in Cather literary work has revised interest in other artists who were known to Cather or who were significant to her. However, this might seem illogical because Cather privacy has become legendary due to the way she presented herself to the public. Cather usually presented herself through creating her own image shaped by childhood. This gives the reader a sense of personal association with her thus protecting her privacy by sidetracking attention from other parts of her life. An overview of Willa Cather Biography Willa Cather was born on 7 December, 1873 in Creek Valley. Her young life left an impression which is memorable and created a foundation for her character stories. Her illustrious work is based on writing essays, short stories, poems and making contribution to journals and editors. She was the first female to be inducted into the Nebraska Hall of Fame. This is where her history is centered by the introduction at Red Cloud, Nebraska. Nebraska community works in honor of her memory and there is also an accolade to her naming of the Willa Cather Memorial Prairie. Willa Carter was criticized by scholars and feminists because of using male narrators in developing her literary work. In the story Peter-an old man who emigrated to Nebraska from Bohemia with his wife is used Interesting views on Willa Carter work The enormous familiar and gifted Cather almost never fits precisely into a literary movement’s precarious school of thoughts. Cather’s writings do not precisely satisfy the expectation of critics that is from Marxists to feminists. This makes a legitimate summary of the state of much literary criticism in America all over the 20th century. Researchers have claimed that in the story “The Namesake” has an autobiographical important; that is Cather’s maternal uncle, William Boak who dies in civil war and Cather modified her name with his middle name. However, the story “The Namesake” the earlier decline of the civil war hero becomes the base of a moving exploration of the people of America identity and the vocation of the artist in association to his country. Similar to her protagonists such as Hartwell, she also visited Paris and admired it, in addition, she seriously admired James who wrote comprehensively about America while living as an emigrant abroad. Therefore, Cather’s artistic work is applicable to later school of thoughts though it was initially hard for feminist critics to deal with her art. This anticipation was replaced by a hearty encirclement when it was termed that Cather must be a lesbian at some extent. Though Cather continued to produce excellent and reprehensible literary work, her critics continued to execute some dubious turns. Cather was extremely impervious to the Avant –garde practice of writer’s such as Woolf. Neither her isolation was she fascinated in conveying the spirit of erudite cultural malaise and psychosexual breakdown so palpable in Fitzgerald. As a matter of fact, she did not examine the stream of consciousness with her characters or their sex lives. She only considered their ideals in her writings and wrote about them in a prose. This looked unambiguously non-experimental from white marble. Most Cather’s critics did not consider this point among other things such as decidedly odd. This means that Cather was reckoned to be inadequately engaged with enormous social issues. Throughout the depression Cather came under intense attack from left-leaning critics for attesting the sufferings of her life to some enduring tragic code rather than powers of social and economic marginalization. Therefore, when she induced the harshness and sadness of American Prairie life she did so as if higher yield and technological redundancy and cyclic depressions and the struggle between the classes was not in existence. However, Cather’s literary had supporters who were prone to loading up her work with moral readings in line with the text. However, though Cather was conservative, the type that Sophocles might have been had been established in the Red Cloud, where catholic critics attacked her as a sentimental co-religionist. In addition, she did not seem to concern about playing along in various literary works which were written toward the end of her life. She freely criticized Marx and other ideological art that were politically motivated (Cather, 1987). However, this is not for a moral purpose. This is because an artist should have a moral purpose in mind besides his or her work. Moreover, in the following decades, if commentators during Cather’s lifetime did not register what was the focus point significant about her life, she impressively unillusioned vision of human experience, then those who came after her death suggested to treasure virtues in her literary work by which herself would have not been believed. Therefore, Cather as a writer and a novelist should become a candidate for rehabilitation during that time. This is because the time seemed ripe for a primary re-evaluation of an upcoming woman writer. Among other things, Cather scorned the notion that becoming a woman writer meant that she was constrained to deal with female characters or conventionally female concerns such as courtship. This floating structuring device of so much female anchored fiction in the century whereby she has no interest in the traditional marriage. Cather describes this by considering the results of migration, in the story, ‘The Namesake, Lahiri enriches the theme of culture which made him an international bestseller. This is the experience of the immigrants-clash of old culture, conflicts and acclimatization which welter between generations. The picture of Cather is superbly bizarre. For example, in one Cather wears a jaunty civil war cap embellished with her initials is a type of miniature (Cather, 1987). Perhaps the enormous startling sports seen by her commentators is a minor musical cult figure of the 19th century. However, as the images goes, these portraits are full of magic and baby-butch orientation which are ultimately weird. This is because they allow us to imagine for the strange girl or boy who select to present herself in such an interesting attire. Considering Cather homosexuality, it is really bad-mannered to be so curious about a perfect writers erogenous life. A case might be made that the most important approach to development in the biography and psychosocial aspects is not to expose writer’s sexual life. This is because the writer realizes the impact of such development if it confines of the one the individual lives. Furthermore, most of the world class biography such as Edgar Allan Poe have been differentiated by intense, thus liberating the focus to sexual-emotional aspects (Robinson, 1983). Therefore, it may be true that Cather’s strange, peculiarly configured homosexuals has not yet had the nature of intellectual analysis it seek. However, it has no reason to relieve Cather from inquiry of this nature. Besides her sexuality exempted as a theme swatches her entire work and become unnecessarily opaque. In addition, we could not know which one was great within the group of writer of in the 19th century. This is because the homoerotic sentiment towards female was mutual among women in the 19th century. Conclusion Criticism so as to be anything needs vulgarians and experienced nature. The individual who gets it wrong inconsistencies are as essential to the one who get it right. It is a continuous negotiation between error and truth therefore the discoveries effected by art go unnamed thus remaining unavailable from history of art because it is only recognized if its innovations are specified. The work of Cather’s explores the human lifestyle, for example in the story Peter in which the old find it difficult to acclimate the young for whom the immigration was ordinarily made at the first time. It is clash story of father-so story, which in reality is applicable to human relationship. References Robinson, P. C. (1983). Willa, the life of Willa Cather. Garden City, N.Y.: Doubleday.
