High Noon versus Unforgiven Movies - Essay Example

The experience Amy had when their brother and father died in a gunfight strengthened her belief but she defies the odds to come back and fight the outlaws and help her husband in which she even ends up killing one of the attacking outlaws. This is proof of courage against the observed fear of other townspeople who kept off the fight and more so the womenfolk.

In the unforgiven, Alice portrays elusive bravery and strength as Amy and the only difference is her moral standing of being a prostitute while Amy was in the socially accepted marriage relationship. Alice exposes her fury against the perceived unfair justice served to one of her fellow whore (Delila) by the local sheriff. Much as she admits to being a whore, she explicitly refuses dehumanizing treatment and demands respect and dignity in life. She stands out to protect Delilah just like Amy and Kane during the gunfight.

An overriding picture of similarity in these two characters is their spirited fight to protect the people they love and defy norms as girls to defend their principles of life.
