Human Relations Prejudice and discrimination is a part of every individual’s life, at any pointin time one may witness or be a victim or by a conductor of the act of discrimination and racism. Such is the scenario in US in various social settings such as classrooms and work arenas. For example: in one of my classes I and a group of friends had to work on a project regarding terrorism. This project focused upon who are terrorists, what they look like, what are their beliefs and where do they come from. The very instant we started working on the project, everyone started referring to Muslims as terrorists and regarded people living in Arab nations as terrorists (Tan 94). I kept listening for a while until the entire scene made me feel pathetic and in response I shouted out loud that no Muslims are not terrorists and it is just an image that have been created by the media and political arena. My response was quite accurate as they instructor later supported my idea and a huge discussion took place in which the teacher and the students tried to clarify whether Muslims are terrorists or not. Such discussions and clarification if held by the media can help solve the problem of prejudice. Diversity is considered very important for organizations as it helps in learning and development. People from one background get to learn about people and the beliefs of these people and this helps in understanding each other in a better manner.

Prejudice

...Prejudice Prejudice is referred to as the prejudgment, or the forming of an opinion beforebecoming aware of the relevant facts of the case (Vedantum, 2013). There was a time when one person or the other could build a belief about another person or thing. As a result, this has influenced the belief of others who interact with the instigator, either directly or indirectly. Most of the stereotypes upheld by different people I believe came from the prejudice built by a single person who influenced anothers psychology.
