Extract of sample "Macho"

Macho is a word that is used widely by different people across the globe, when different people use it differently it ought to have many meanings.

As a Latin American-born guy, since I was a child I have heard the phrase “you will become a nice guy and a “mero macho” when you get older” Now, today that I am nineteen and I live in America I consider myself a “macho”, even though, as Guibailt, wrote in her essay, this word is misrepresented in this country.
The word macho does not really describe a man who is tuft, machist, promiscuous, and other bad things, in fact, the Latin American “macho” is the one who takes the family responsibility on his shoulder, give the 101% for them, make himself seem rude for self-protection, but deep inside he cannot even kill an ant.
Nowadays American people have changed completely the meaning of the word macho making this Mexican rood word someone really bad, just like golf player Tiger Woods, who cheated on his wife with more than one hundred women and was very rude to her and his fans (in 2005, he canceled a party that his wife organized for him when he won just because he was used to win almost every month, therefore, that is not a fact to celebrate).
The worst thing about this as Guibault said, is that the media and the people are getting used to this misrepresented meaning of the word and it is becoming very popular all over the United States. Today I still smile and do not get upset when someone tells me that I look macho.

Misinterpretation is very wrong; the media has played a crucial role in making the people believe that whatever they see is real and exists, this is anything but the reality.

The word macho distorts truth and makes the people feel superior but the reality is very different from that.

People move on with their stereotypical thinking and they have already made images in their minds about the word macho but this is again very stereotypical of them and will only misguide the other people.

Guibault has done a wonderful job describing the word macho; he has described it really well. There are cultural misunderstandings which must be avoided; the use of language has brought about a significant change in our society.
