Extract of sample "Racism in Transcription"

The transcriptionist was likely no more invested in the intent of the message than was necessary to complete the task at hand. Their response regarding the president’s desire for rhetorical effect was indeed correct given the fact that President Obama is a very well-spoken individual who rarely says anything without an underlying meaning involved.

My conclusion with this incident is that the transcriptionist was in fact only attempting to fulfill the original terms of the contract and that without additional information being made available was not doing so with any ill intent. If, however, the transcriptionist had been given instructions to correct spelling errors or errors in pronunciation then one could easily see that the transcriptionist may have had ulterior motives. Given the available information, however, I find it hard to believe that the transcriptionist had anything other than fulfilling the job that they had been paid for and continuing on with their career.
