Introduction Throughout our lives, there is one person who in one way or another has influenced our lives. It couldbe a friend, a family member or a teacher. These influences can either be negative or positive and are not easy to forget.The person who has positively influenced me most is my father. He is a very hardworking and determined man. He often tells me that in order to be successful in life, one should never give up. Whatever my father purposes to do, he sees to it that he accomplishes it no matter the challenges he might face.

He is always by my side and wants the best of me. Whenever I come across a difficult situation and seek help or advice from him, he, instead of doing the thing for me, explains how I should go about it. This has over the years developed confidence in me and I have become more focused and determined in life. Through my father, I have always been able to set goals in everything I do, especially in my academics. In addition, my father has taught me never to speak ill of anyone or to look down on anyone.

Through him, I have learnt such invaluable virtues as love, honesty, hard work, and selflessness. I am so grateful to have such a blessed and wonderful father. I love and respect him both as a friend and a mentor. I thank him for making me who I am today. I attribute my success to him and will forever feel indebted to him for everything that he has done for me.
