Doubt over Tunisian martyr who triggered revolution Syria security forces commit crimes against humanity As the fire of revolution engulfs Middle East, more and more stories of violence and injustice appear to the astonishment of the 21st century civilized and demaocratically tamed world. For many in and out of Middle East, it is a sign of freedom and a new start yet for many it is nothing but a continuation of what had always existed. This hopelessness is a result of fear of external intervention in the revolution though the matter is still in question.

A revolution process has always been bloody and it has kept the tradition in Middle East too, especially Libya, where government backed crimes have been gruesome enough to cross borders and become an international security concern. “According to an independent survey, civilians - including children - have been murdered, tortured and sexually assaulted” (“crimes against humanity”). The weaker majority, in all the Middle Eastern countries has come under the wrath of unjust dictators, who had still not had enough of power.

Security forces are killing the unarmed people upon the higher orders. The situation is of concern for the whole world and the concern is personified in Arab league’s economic threats to Libya. Revolution is in the air of Middle East now and majority of public and youngsters are determined to stand against the stronger minority of governments. It is hocking to know that even in 21st century; there are places like Tunisia where people would commit suicide because they are desperate to be heard and to be taken notice of.

The centuries old suppression is showing itself in full bloom throughout the Middle East yet the authorities are showing no justice whatsoever. The purpose is right and justified and people of Middle Eastern countries like, Libya and Tunisia, have every right to raise their voices but it will not happen without undue interruptions like Security forces crimes against public in Libya and Total denial of justice to Mohammad Bouazizi. Damascus receives an economic embargo as a result of its unlawful killings of public and denial of democracy in the country.

“The foreign minister of the country declares it a war against Damascus” (“Crimes against humanity”). Damascus is trying to demonstrate a false image by showing public rallies in favor of the government through national media but world is aware of this old trick. Whereas it has been an open show of intolerance in Syria, we see that in Tunisia individuals have become prey to the undignified wrath of Ben-Ali. Mohammad Bouazizi had to burn himself because of the unbearable frustration, caused by the suppressive rule of Ben Ali.

“The Official responsible for provoking Mohammad is as much a victim of the regime as is Mohammad Bouazizi” (Davies). She only tried to teach law but the underlying dissatisfaction caused the mishap of Mohammad’s burning himself alive. One thing is strikingly similar in both the cases; the powerless majority of the countries suffer the consequences of political intolerance while the culprits i.e. the presidents of the countries escape any type of harshness. In Syria, the president Assad goes on with his regime and apparently no bad luck is inflicted and in Tunisia, Ben-Ali is collecting tones of gold in foreign countries for comfortable after life.

It is a sad fact that he feels no life threat where as he has killed so many during his time. It is a sad reality that such noble a cause- democratic revolutions- would meet with such ferocity by the culprits yet the good and hopeful part is that Middle East is ready to pay the price of Freedom. World is about to see a change, though change s coming at a huge price.
